If we win, it won't take long. No ties to UT, this will be a stepping stone.

What is kiffin's buyout? If it's too big, he may reconsider going to the NFL in a few years.

What I like is how people act as if that's a bad scenario. If Lane performs well enough at Tennessee to merit NFL consideration, that's a good thing.

I agree with this. If he goes back to the NFL then we, at the very least, should have an SEC title under our belts. And possibly a national title.

He may leave....then again he is a student of Pete Carroll. If he does well, he may decide that the NFL isn't for him after previous his experience. If he does leave the team in a good situation, then I would think someone on his successful staff would take over for him.

i think he will stay if hes a success, in the college ranks at least, the nfl has left a bad taste in his mouth. i think he will do great things for ut if he is our man

May not be as reasonable as you think. Carroll has been the cream of the crop and no more nfl people seem to be beating the door down to get him. He like Lane was a failure in the pros which may keep Lane here a long time even with great success. Badass.:)
