Busch was docked 100 points, fined $100,000 and placed on probation until Dec. 31st today... no suspension

With the 100 point penalty, Ku. Busch drops from 9th to 17th in the standings. :wacko:

Even Kurt says that he expected a suspension. Jimmie Johnson also said that Kurt deserved a suspension.

Kurt makes doing what he did sound "OK" just because he had his car under control and didn't actually hit the guy. :wacko:

Busch hinted that perhaps the reason why NASCAR didn't lower the boom was because when Busch suddenly pulled up next to Tony Stewart's car on pit road, forcing crewmember Jason Lee to leap out of the way, there was no contact.

"There was almost hitting a guy on pit road versus actual and that's still what needs to be separated here," Busch said. "And we can't say that I hit the guy because I had my car under control when I stopped next to Tony's car on pit road."

penalties should be given out based on what happened. not what could have happened or what would have happened if...

I wish Jimmy Spencer would give him another shot to the face like he did at Michigan a few years back.

At Dover last week he got upset with Tony Stewart because Tony didn't give him any room and Kurt ended up wrecking and then going onto pit road he drove up fast and stopped right next to where a crewman was servicing Stewarts car on pit road and the crewman had to jump on Stewarts car to avoid getting hit.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR announced Friday that Kurt Busch, driver of the No. 2 Dodge in the Nextel Cup Series, has been penalized 100 championship driver points, fined $100,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31, 2007, for violating Section 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing -- reckless driving; endangering a crew member on pit road) of the 2007 NASCAR rule book.

Not that that makes it right, since the rule apparently didn't exist in 2001 or 2002.

I knew Kurt would not be suspended. NA$CAR lacks the testicles to do what's right anymore. The punishment was a slap on the wrist compared to what Kurt should have received,which should have been suspension for the rest of the season at the very least. He nearly killed somebody but I guess NASCAR doesn't care.
