Will Kiffin lose the fans...

Except Kiffin's ass is on the line in this game.

Yeah, his job security depends entirely on how this team, with MAC-quality talent at best, performs on the road against the best team in the country.

I guess we should just send him the pink slip now.

Except Kiffin's ass is on the line in this game. If its a close game at halftime (which it won't be), but if it is, and Crompton stats are lik 6-14, 50 yards, 2 picks, he'll pull him. NO doubt in my mind. And i know it won't be close, but i'm just sayin.

Please tell me you are kidding with the "ass on the line" comment?

Kiffin will lose the fans that aren't paying attention to the talent he is stacking up. we will be very good in the near future with these commits and last year's class. This team will be something to be very proud of very soon.

I didn't mean that. I meant about his prediction for the UF game.

We need to lose of these so-called "fans" honestly. Maybe they will suffocate under a Fulmer fat roll.

I was talking about the UF game and how he predicted we would win. He has done a good job so far. I did not mean he should be fired after one game. Sorry for the lack of clarification

If Kiffin loses fans because of JC it will be a sad day for Vol fans everywhere b/c that would mean we are not very smart. I think it's obvious to most anyone who watches the games that our team is playing faster, with more effort, and tougher than they have in several years. A coach cannot be judged until he is able to completely restock a team with his recruiting classes.

Please tell me Big Orange Nation is not that naive.

No problem. It's just so hard to tell with the level of moronic posts flying everywhere today.

You're right. :swoon3:

I agree. Let Stephens go against Ohio and build his confidence. Florida will destroy his confidence. If Stephens can handle the snap, not stare down receivers, and only throw 2 picks per game, he is already better than Crompton.

We need to be patient, yes i admit i want us to win now, but we all knew coming into the season we was gonna lose some games (but not ucla !) . I hate to compare to the gay crimson forehead saban ( was it 5-7 ) but we are in a very similar position. Kiffin will not lose me as a fan as along as he keeps doing what he has to this point. He really has no control over JC`s poor execution.

I'm not sure some of you understand how big yesterday was.... our team is in big trouble and we will have a hard time staying within 45 points of florida. Why would any coach in his first season trying to win recruits and fans not try anything other than a stupid dive play over and over...

I agree with your first sentence. We all need a bit of patience.

It's the last sentence that I must politely disagree on. I heard CLK on the post-game show take the blame for not putting JC in better situations. Please don't think that I'm happy with JC's performance by any means. However, I am glad to see a coach step up and take the heat for putting his QB in bad situations. I'm just hoping that he and CJC find the solution before next week.

CLK will not lose me either. Good post!

I think he went on to say that was Mike Hamilton's idea to say that. I am pretty sure CLK knows that beating UF is a big task with our talent gap under center

if he refuses to give Stephens a chance when/if Crompton keeps playing badly and is the main reason we continue to lose games?

I say let him start Crompton next week at Florida and by the 4th quarter and if/when he starts playing like crap, bring Stephens in to finish the game and then let him finish out the year. I'm afraid if we continue to lose with Crompton that there won't be very many fans at Neyland the rest of the year.

Surely Nick couldn't do no worse than what Jonathan did yesterday.....but then again, I'm not a coach. :p

If we lose fans with a new coach then those are fans that we can do without.

Kiffin came here with very little talent on this team and he is doing an excellent job recruiting. When we put up with an incompetent staff for the last 4 years 3 games with the talent recruited by that incompetent staff is not going to make a difference.

We have very little chance of winning in Gainesville, but the way I look at it is that our coaching staff is playing with their hands tied behind their back. We have the coaching to win, but the talent is lacking.

Posts like this show what totally ignorant fans we have.

Bingo!! Turned me against a man I thought was UT's best coach ever-----R.R. Neyland excluded.

Kiffin better fix this---he won't get as much slack with the fans as UT family man Phil did.

You have got to be kidding me?

Any "fans" that Lane loses over this past weekend are not true Vol fans. They are not wanted and not needed....period. Now close this thread.

If Nick could not clearly distance himself from Crompton in camp this summer what does that say about him? If Crompton has proven himself to be some how better than Nick the last two years, what does that say? Nick did not do much better last year when he had a chance. We are just going to have to tough this year out and wait for the qb of the future.
