I am 100% fine with the frustrations about the offense. In fact I don't think the spread can win championships without a heisman type QB in the SEC and have said that from day 1 of the cbj era.
However I didn't committ to play for a coach that has a track record with that style.
I am 100% against the player allowing his frustrations to be brought here out in the open. Shame on the kid, 74, or both.
Well--we agree on 99.9%....some thoughts I have are:
I don't think they're worthy of being ashamed...guilty of violating chain of command?--yes.....
I wonder who CBJ would receive honest, constructive criticism from? I wonder if he has a coaching mentor who can honestly and objectively give him constructive feedback on his obvious mistakes....
One would think that an objective, honest review of the OK, Fla, Arky--and now the USCe game tapes would FORCE these guys to re-evaluate their confidence in their scheme....and game-day performances...
They don't have to voice their own self-critique--but it would be nice if they would demonstrate their own self-evaluations by changing what they have been doing WRONG this season--but the USCe game, at least to me, indicates that this is not happening...and that they are unwilling to change....
At the least--there must be accountability for poor coaching and poor scheming within the Athletic department...is that job only for the AD? I confess that I don't know....
Maybe by going public with their frustrations--Hurd and 74 are trying to draw focus on some very obvious problems with the scheme....and force some change...
Once again--I agree that airing out dirty laundry is not the BEST method--but I'd much rather have dirty laundry exposed and some improvements made
than to completely destroy our ability to recruit top talent...
And in my opinion--
HURD leaving this program would have a DEVASTATING impact on recruiting.....He's the best and brightest of the in-state talent pool.....and I don't believe that CBJ could recover from HURD leaving the program..
Finally--I think this season has exposed CBJ's immaturity...and arrogance....What is it truly going to take to get CBJ to humble himself and make some necessary changes on both sides of the ball?
You??? :salute:
