:hi:
Because recruiting history is interesting to discuss that's why.
Yeah there are so many players that we either didn't offer, or were once committed to TN, or we couldn't get them after we were in their top 2/3 schools.....It really hurts to watch it play out, meanwhile TN has kept losing....
Guys we really didn't offer include Will Jackson, Cobb, Patrick Willis, many others from state of TN that became SEC/ D1 stars or NFL players.....
Guys that were once committed include Tahj Boyd, DJ Swearinger, DT Shackleford, Aubrey Phillips, Jermaine Copeland, Michael Taylor, and so many more.....
Guys that we were close to getting include Demps, Lemonier, Gabe Wright, Dawson, Christian Harris, and many more....
With all the players that Kiffin and Dooley ran off, the results have been poor... David Oku, Bryce Brown, Darick, BJ Coleman, Darren Myles, Ramon Johnson, and so many more.....
Let's hope that Butch will do 3 things better than the 2 regimes before: (and fulmer's last few years)
1. Evaluate all in-state talent better, and take 8-10 players/ year (more or less) who can play big-time SEC ball, and become studs
2. Keep players engaged in the program in they can help out, if not then they can leave to open schollies up if they will never play
3. Once you get in the players top 2/3 choices for where to go to school, Butch needs to close hard!! Winning and establishing a program will help, but so will superior salesmanship done with character...... I think in 3 years we will realize Butch was the right guy!!
