It is sad to see so many that agree to put away the elderly just because they can’t do what they used to. I think it’s a credit to ESPN and college game day that they keep him on the show. It means everything to him at this point and cost the viewer nothing to have the old dog on the show. Most in our culture today would rather he was in a nursing home out of the way though. Sad to see.

I agree. At most, he should only do a brief cameo from home. He has no place on that set. Herbstreit thinks highly of him…and rightly so…but Herbstreit would be a better friend to have the hard conversation that it is time to hang up the mic.

Mcaffee is like a wrestling character/carnival barker personality. It’s too much at times. Corso was witty and knew how to get reaction from fans..good and bad. He was good television. I’m glad they are allowing him to still be a part of the show in some capacity but I do agree that at times it is tough to watch. There are so many seniors citizens living in depression and loneliness w/nothing to do but sit and wait on death. So I respect ESPN for allowing him stay on in some capacity. I’m sure most that is due to Herbstreit’s loyalty.

Gameday will either make it an event or his health will stop him from working.
I dig the hell out of the man working at 87 and loving it. I hope I can do the same.
At some point they will start marketing the last GameDay prediction for him.

All these personalities are "directed". Read from a script. None are very witty.

I want to see a sophisticated animatronic Lee Corso like the ones in the Hall of Presidents at Disney. It couldn’t possibly be worse than the real thing. Lee, buddy, time to hang it up.

People talking like it's ESPN doing something bad for putting Corso out there each week, but it's more likely a favor to him/them doing it because Corso wants it. Football has been his life's passion. If he wanted to retire he would have.

Lee can't hear you. He can't hear anyone. Just a prop, and it's beyond ridiculous, now. espn---"Look at us, we are so benevolent".

To be honest, Corso built that show into a juggernaut and he deserves the right to retire whenever he wants as long as he isn't affecting the bottom line. Gameday has become ESPN's last consistent winner and has by default, turned into the crown jewel of the entire network as college football went from regional to national and now into the superconference era.

As long as he is physically able to make it, then I have no problem with him being there.
