Will Hughes Ever Realize His Potential?

Wasn't he a 2* coming in, so isn't he reailizing his potential already?

There are always some mistaken ratings, his was one of them. Even one of the service's evaluators said so in an article that I think was in the local paper. In that regard, he has outperformed.

When he showed up at UT and started eating Senior O-lineman's lunches on some days / some plays it became clear the evaluation services missed on him, and that he ought to be something special. The disappointment has been that pattern of eating O-line lunch one play and getting nuked on another has not changed since the first day he was at UT.

Usually a freshman who does that will slowly increase the number of plays they kill it on, while drastically lowering the number of plays they suck on. Hughes has done that a bit, but not to the extent is normally seen from guys that go on to be dominate every down players at this point in his career.

327 but closer to 330...

What's the big deal about 3 lbs?
I think they said the staff doesn't want him over 315. There is no telling how many times the staff may have told him this and stressed it to him. No way to know, but just speculating. There comes a point where you just get tired of seeing it when the point has been made time after time after time, if this is what happened.

15 pounds overweight is not that much for him to lose come fall.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing. 15lbs is no reason to freak out. Having said that, this guy is pissing me off the more I read about him. There is NEVER a positive report about Montori Hughes. It's always he's either in trouble, suspended from practice, not giving 100%, etc. What is his problem?!? Is he afraid of becoming a future NFL millionaire?

To be fair to Hughes, the vast majority of people could not make it through a single week of two a days. That's why High School football teams don't dress out 500.

Big guys shed weight so easy. He'll lose 20lbs the 1st week when they make him eat right. I think he knows how good he is, he just doesn't care.

:loco:

And therein lies the problem. His world is all about him. Have we not seen enough of these selfish headcases around here? Between a few of the basketball team players and guys like Montori on the football team we could start a psychiatric practice.
