Nothing. Milton has all the tools. Heupel is a great developer of QBs. Milton only started with this program for fall practice. Hell, his teammates weren't really up to speed on this offense until after the Florida game and they'd been in Knoxville a lot longer than Milton had. When Milton was playing, the whole team was still finding its way. It's not unreasonable to think he's a better QB (just as the entire team is) right now than he was in September and certainly not unreasonable to think that he will be better next year.

I've seen QBs go from garbage to outstanding before with outstanding QB coaches (Ainge, Crompton, Brady Quinn, to name a few). I'm not saying I'm predicting it. But it's possible.

It will be the first thing referenced however there is a ton of tape on the guy. Even if he bombs with 3 INTs and 5 sacks, he's still good for a late round grade.

It just depends where his draft report predicts he'll go. I think another good season will move him up in the draft. Besides Heupel needs him. the cupboard is bare if 2Hs does not come back at the QB position.

Poor Hook has been sacked 27 times...... I wish he could stay, but no way he comes back without an upgraded O line. And he cannot know that in time to make the draft decision. We've been told that he will actually make the call in the next 3-4 weeks and no way would we have any info on incoming O line from portal. I say he is gone. And if he goes, I will forever be a fan of his and appreciate what he did for us.

My selfish hope is that Hendon comes back,shows Jackson the on field finer points of Coach Heupel's offense and has a fabulous year.But,whatever he decides,thank you for all that you and this team have given us this year.Now,let's put a heater in Ugga's doghouse tomorrow!

JMO....I don't see much at all that Hooker does right now in Huepel's offense that the NFL is looking for.....He's a pretty good fit what Heupel is asking. I will be really surprised if he comes out in this draft.

Unless he’s projected high in draft, he returns. There is opportunity for him leading the Vols next year (both individually and team). As an individual, he’ll be in the Heisman conversation. I believe TN has a shot at a Championship next year.

My basis: There is more to this guy than show-me-the/money. However, he wants to play at the next level do if his projected draft is high he’ll go.

Any other coach without the background Heup has? Good possibility he’s gone. But I see Huep talking into staying, building his stock, then going. Another year under Huep this kid is gonna look NFL ready no question + be a Heisman contender - maybe

If he grades well I think he goes...
Can't forget his age and also some OL guys, Payton and Jones are gone.
He has some buzz, grades high in the SEC QB list and like I mentioned. If Trey Lance can get drafted at 3 with only one full season and I think 2 games last year.
Anything is possible for Hooker

No Milton does NOT have the tools. Yes, he has some good physical attributes such as a very strong wrist snap when throwing a football. However, players who have a strong wrist snap are not known for throwing very catchable balls or for putting "air" under the ball. But worse, being a great QB is more mental than physical. Why was Peyton such a great QB? He had OK physical abilities but great mental football knowledge and decision making skills. He also didn't panic under pressure. Sorry to say but currently Milton lacks in COMPLETE physical and mental skills. At this point in his life, I am not sure these can be fixed in a short period of time (meaning a year or two).

uhhh accurate passer with the ability to run if need be. Doesn't throw a lot of INTs and does a pretty good job of not turning the ball over..

I hope Hooker returns for 2022. If he does, I can easily talk myself into a 10 win season.

But VQ made a solid point that they believe he is more likely to leave, especially with a strong showing these last 4 games (including the bowl game), because he is already 23 years old. Coming back would mean he would be an old 24 as a rookie.

I really hope he comes back tho, he is our most important player/recruit for 2022.

I was obviously referring to physical tools. The mental part is the part that’s coached. Yes, he was not complete after being on campus for a month and playing 1.5 games. He might be much better after a year of development. Might not.

I understand that absolutism is a more appealing mindset to many in our fan base. Like I said, some will get triggered at the suggestion that Milton might become good. Many of the same were upset that Bailey wasn’t given more of a chance, even though he showed far less ability than Milton.

Hope he stays healthy and comes back… just think if he does and a solid off season of training and more development under Coach Huepel… he’d probably be real Heisman contender and we’d get a good 9 win season 🤞🏾😬……

Based on draft projection could make more in NIL than in salary year 1 in the league. Improve stock(Long term investment) +NIL (Short term investment)= A no brainer imo

Are players really making any money via NIL currently?
The only one I really heard about making professional money was Bryce Young. Don't know if the $ amount was rumor though.
I think when EA NCAA comes that may open up money $ to players...

Minus the national championship part, I was thinking something similar the other day. If Hooker does go Pro it will be interesting to see what happens in the portal bc that is the route I expect the staff to go
