Will Heupel Handle The Pressure?

He is used to winning. How is he going to handle when the fans start to become impatient, and the media starts to ask tougher questions.

I’ll be honest I like him but he seems to get aggravated when you press him on anything. Curious how he will handle losing the next 5-7 games.

Our coach will be fine.

The administration understands that the first year is going to be garbage. If we don’t win one game do the ministration is not going to budge on how they feel about him. They wanted someone that would be here for 10 years. It’s not been a full year yet.

Let’s not get divorced before the honeymoon starts.

I expect him to handle it like a man and like a professional being paid millions.

He'll handle the pressure like a grown man. First, he will not tell anyone about the tension building inside of him. He will push all the stress down and keep it bottled up. He will turn to drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism until the strain is too much. And once his mental and physical health is obliterated, he will have a heart attack just like a real man does.

Nah...he'll be fine.

As a head coach he’s something like 28-8 or something in the ball park. He’s used to winning at a good rate as a head coach. Where did OP say he was Urban Meyer

Urban is getting a dose of humility just like Spurrier and Saban did in the NFL. I’ll never understand college coaches thinking they will be able to be successful in the NFL. The quarterback has as much authority if not more than you do…
Edit: guy was the qb at OK and won a Natty, I think he can handle the scrutiny and pressure just fine. Getting aggravated at the media is human and he doesn’t let his emotions fly like a lot of coaches do. Another funny stat is Urban historically went to programs after a failed coach. Ron Zook at UF and Luke Fickell at Ohio State… not to mention the Jags.

He has won 77% of his games as a head coach. I think that qualifies as “used to winning”.

At this point, I will take (Butch Jones type) success, and I think Heupel is either as good as if not better than Butch. If he can get us to 9 wins by year 3, I’ll be pretty pumped

Saban gets irritated as well but since he has continued success its comical. Not that I think Heupel can or ever will be Saban. Im just happy I can watch TN and think they might actually score. So many times with Pruitt game were painful to watch.

He’s also using Missouri as a reference regardless of them having the best offense in the league then. He gets blamed for the defense since he was the OC according to that dingbat.

Urban Meyer would be an example of a coach who is not accustomed to losing.
