Will Friend is a Real Coach..

as I have said serveral times already....2018 team will not resemble team of 2017...you might as well forget it...

So Will Friend comes to Tennessee and highly regarded by his peers and Volnation is pessimistic...of course..what else do you expect...people like to throw out garbage for a return response...
2018 team will not resemble 2017 at all...all these coaches are for real.
for the first time in years we actually have one of the best staffs in the NCAAF

As they say "Its a process"..but IMO people will be pleasantly surprised by what takes the field this year...

Just think of each player that takes the field actually giving 120%....that will make up for a lot of shortcomings by the newbies

he's a real Friend. Time will tell about being a real coach.

He's been coaching oline for a decade, was also an all sec lineman for Alabama. How much more time do we need to stamp his docs to say that he is a real coach, and not a fake one?

The guy will be O Line recruits dream coach...
It will be like going 0 to 100 in 6 seconds..
thats how much of a difference fans will see this year.
When the recruits see the difference on the field they will come...Friend will put them in the LEAGUE

I was impressed by the progress our OL made during the Spring. We’ll be even better this Fall...

I believe you in terms of belief regarding our OL improvement and gave you a like to certify that belief. BUT, we don't know nothing, we ain't seen nothing, and we ain't nothing until we face the Georgia, Florida, and Auburn teams.

I'm with you. I'm hopeful and optimistic, but synical because of the lure of past off season heros like sunseri and Shoop. Will admit that it does feel different, if only because it seems they're working more than talking. Need some over achievers because we are at a defect in talent vs teams we need to beat.

One of the huge problems last year outside of the injuries and lack of depth was Butch went on the cheap promoted a rookie offensive coordinator to coach in the SEC. Scott may be a great coordinator someday, but IMO he wasn't ready last season.

how many Bama position coaches have we pulled over the last decade or so? How many have we been happy with? Time will tell with this guy.

That's great an' all, but...I'll believe it when I see it.

Dood.... Cant you get excited about anything? The whole world of UT football is changing. I hope you are not that much of a half empty guy in real life. If you are your probably should move from your grannys basement.

I've never thought we were defective.

He has the key job IMO making an OL that is competent in the SEC. That is the only way you can win with an OL like last season were in for another rough season.

Will strikes me as the type of guy that would put truck n*ts on a Geo Metro. I really like him and think our O-Line will be much improved this season. Hell after last season just lining up, pushing, and grabbing will be an improvement.

He was not a position coach at bama, and anything mentioned in the last decade should probably have * next to it. I don't know the answer to your question though.

OL will show biggest improvement next season: It has to go up rapidly from last year...At the end of the season, Sun Belt teams had way better OLs than us.

DL needs to improve too as we had Moses parting the front 7 every time there was a run up the middle, 25 foot, curbed throughway for the other team. Which is how our Pass Defense improved so much. The other teams didn't see a need to throw against us when the run was so effective.

3rd Concern is CBs: while two of them weren't the best by far, losing three starters, including Gaulden, is a huge concern.

Point: We continually pull coaches that appeared successful elsewhere. They weren’t here. Time will tell with Friend and Pruitt
