Will Dooley be on the Hot Seat if we lose to Georiga?

Yeah, that's just what UT needs, another coaching change! Anyone calling for Dooley's job before 2014 seriously needs their head examined!!

OP, do you honestly think that there is not talent at GA? GA could be a dangerous team on any given Saturday, their only problem is coaching (or lack of) and very inconsistent play. Doesn't mean they can't come up with a good game and beat someone their not supposed to.

i agree with you on the 2014, if he hasnt produced well, and hasnt beat a rival (fla.ala) by then.he will be on the hot seat

You don't really have idiot fans who want Dooley fired if he loses to UGA, or goes 7-5 this year, do you?

A winning season and a bowl game?

Good grief.

Obviously there's no way Dooley's going to be fired after this year unless there's some unpredictable catastrophic collapse or huge scandal.

That being said, all those acting like Dooley won't even be held accountable for his performance until 2014 are also going crazy.

Dooley will be judged after the 2012 season.

If you guys are 8-4 then or whatever, he might have to win the SEC in 2013 to even have a shot at keeping his job.

I could see him being fired if Tennessee finishes 7-5 in 2012.

If Tennessee finishes 8-4 in 2012, he'll probably keep his job, but I wouldn't have any confidence in his ability to win in the SEC.

Dooley is not anywhere near the hot seat. I can't believe there are people dumb enough to ask this question.

Really?

These are the same people who fired Fulmer with all the good he did for your program, vast amount of wins over losses, etc...........

Nothing should surprise you when the vocal minority screams loud.

Lets not turn this into another Fulmer debate. This is getting ridiculous, people that ask this question must not read the forums or pay attention to UT football.

If past history is a good indication, Tennessee will probably give Dooley way too much time.

However, I don't think that's the case this time.

The only way Dooley is on the hot seat is if he exposes himself to the crowd and gets arrested!
Which has the same chance of happening as Georgia beating us at home!

My odds of seeing Dooley's schlong in the next 2 weeks are way higher than I had previously anticipated.

We desperately need Dooley's 2013 and 2014 recruiting classes to stay intact, it would be foolish to fire him after next yr regardless of the outcome. Even if he only wins 8 games next year he will retain his job. IMO he should be somewhere near the 10 game mark and I will be disappointed with less than 9, but we can't start over.. AGAIN.

No, Dooley will not be on the hot seat. The fans that do have no faith in our coach, and are only TENNESSEE fans when we are winning.

It will def be warming up, but next yr is the yr that makes or breaks him here

Assuming no scandal / NCAA major issues, Dooley is fine thru 2013. If he is .500 in 2013, the seat will be warmer.

IF he loses to GA then he will be on a very warm seat! It's not because of one lose, but it is because LSU,Bama,USC, and Arkansas are all better than GA. And that equals a 6-6 overall record.

6-6 was already a distinct possibility before this season started. Now, that's still not the record I think we're going to have. I still think that 8-4 is still a good possibility. However, even if 6-6 does occur, it should not warm up his seat a dang bit. This is a rebuilding job not seen in a long time. Johnny Majors had to rebuild from the middle of the pack and not from a decimated squad. I think CDD has done a tremendous job so far and I think we should give him through the 2013 season to judge. If we're still mediocre at that point, then we can start talking. But, I don't think that's going to be the case at all.

OH NO we are screwed. If he loses to Georgia he is fired on the spot. If we beat Georgia Richt is fired on the spot and Dooley is hired by the Bulldogs the next day and takes the entire staff with him. They'll have to bring Kippy back in.

Gruden?
