Will Carlin Fils-Aime be best of class?

I'm a firm believer we got one of the best RB's in the country. This kid played against some of the toughest competition in Florida, and through the regular season averaged 1 TD for every 3 or 4 times he had the ball. It didn't matter where he was at on the field either.

I remember one game he had where he had like a 60 yard TD catch and run off of a screen, a 60+ yard TD run, and a 15 yard TD run. And IIRC those were his only 3 touches before he got benched because the game was a blowout.

I have to admit when I read Fils-Aime said Coach Jones said he would be the only RB taken this cycle, I was disappointed. First, because I was hoping we would push for Holyfield. Second, because John Kelly and Joe Young in their limited reps did not really make as big of a showing as I hope they might later.

However, Fils-Aime's highlights does show some flashes. How well that will translate from high school to the SEC can be deceiving, but I also like what this young man says. I like his passion, and how he convinced his adopted brother, who may be equally talented, to come with him. I have a good feeling about his character. some may not put that much stock into that as I, but that makes me pull for him.

A whole lot can happen while he is here, good and bad. However, I share your optimism about him. Right now, for both of us, it is just a vibe. Early feeling here is I am proud he signed with Tennessee. And if I get the opportunity to meet him, I am going to make a point of encouraging him and Byrd. They both seem like young men that would appreciate it, and it not go to their heads.

I'll pull for every player who gives their all for Tennessee, but this was my favorite commit, and what he does on the field is only part of it. He just seems like a great kid.

Seems like only taking one running back isn't enough. Would have really liked to have seen at least another one in this class signed.

Can the Vols develop Fils-Aime into a all SEC back, let's hope they can, because Hurd and Kamara will probably leave in 2017

I'm not so sure about that, Alabama struggled against the Vols at home last year....I think the Vols will match up well against Bama this year

No they are not. They weren't last year. The scoreboard showed that.

We were a top ten caliber team last year. We choked away some games. It is what it is... but we were better than our respectable record.

And this year we have MORE experience and MORE talent.

I think Carlin will be a stud but man hurd and Kamara are studs and Kelly looked promising in his limited carries. Running back is stacked this year.

Hopefully CFA can take over Kamara's role in 2017. I think he has speed on level with or maybe slightly better than Kamara's, but I'm not sure about overall athleticism.

Can't wait to get him on campus.

CFA is David Oku 2.0 in terms of ability. Except he is faster, not by much be he is a step faster than Oku.

I really think that this years secondary class is the fastest I have ever seen Tennessee sign. Warrior may be the best of the bunch and still have the slowest 40 time, and he has ran a 4.49 before. Crazy ain't it? Love the way he tracks the ball. Eric Berry type instincts.

CFA will make our defense much better via scouting team for his red shirt year. He needs a Jalen Hurd Clone to be taken in the 17 class to alternate reps with.

This class may be better or not, time will tell. My point was that with his first class there wasn't many big names but guys like Sutton, Dobbs, Reeves-Maybin, and even Vereen have developed into invaluable members of the team.

This class is a lot better than most think, 4 or 5 of our 4 stars could very easily been 5 stars and 5 or 6 of the 3 stars could be 4 stars, like the OL recruits all 6-5 or 6-6 and 2 60-270 lbs with a red shirt year these recruits could be 300 lbs before we need them, i know we are rated 14th but for some reason i think this class is under rated, just might be me as a fan but time will tell.

As much as I hate to agree with you, on this, I agree with you.

I also believe we'll see production on the field from this class eventually prove that this is a very underrated class.

Fills needs on several positions and by the time all are forced to become starters they'll be ready to rock.

Several will be playmakers early on like maybe next season.

Recruiting class rankings are nice but really don't matter.

What really matters is the ranking of the team at the end of the season and this class is going to help a lot.

I believe I get what you're saying, but your post couldn't possibly make less sense. An all-purpose back IS an every down back. I mean it's literally in the name. I think the term you're looking for is change of pace back...

FWIW, I think CFA will make a legitimate APB, not just merely a change of pace guy.
