If he some how gets to 9-3 and survives does he go somewhere else where the heat is not so high and he feels more appreciated.

Saban did the same and it worked for him. Jones isn't Saban... but he probably thinks it is worth the shot.

His best interest would be to hand the keys over to someone else.

The longer Butch stays, the worse UT’s football program gets.

Pulling a Cuonzo requires a school that is willing to pay you what you get paid now.

Where is that school?

I highly doubt there is a D1 school prepared to hire Butch Jones. But I am positive NO one is going to even get in the ball park of what we are paying him.

This theory has been posted many times and it makes zero sense.

Stop with the “if he goes 9-3” nonsense. He has a better chance of going 3-9 honestly.

This is absurd. With the exception of bama, all of the other teams remaining on our schedule are just as bad as we are or worse. We'll probably lose 1 or 2 of those games, but there's no way we end up worse than 7-5.

I haven't seen anything out of this team to suggest they can go 9-3. They'll be lucky to win 6 the way they're playing. Sure Jones might get a offer somewhere. His main issue as far as i'm concerned is not one of his 5 teams here has passed the eye test. Any potential suitor will look at that. I can't see him getting a power 5 job anywhere honestly.
