Will anyone beat us in TBA next year?

Tim Russert just mentioned on Leno Phil Fulmer's name in reference to Fred Thompson. Anyone know what about?

Go look at a picture of Fred Thompson and then look at a picture of CPF and tell me what you think.

The only thing that makes me more ill than the prospect of four more years of Haystacks on the UT sideline is the concept of Fred Thompson spending four years in the White House.

going undefeated at home is an absolutely incredible feat...i dont expect it to be done next year just because it is so hard...but we should still have a great home record

Fred Thompson visits UT, donates senate papers

By RANDY KENNER, kenner@knews.com
October 8, 2005

Former Tennessee senator and current television actor Fred Thompson opened a recent speech at the University of Tennessee with a joke about age and ego.
Thompson said he had been walking around campus thinking that it seemed like only yesterday when he was a college student — before he was suddenly reminded it’s been a few years.

"A beautiful young woman came running up to me and said, ‘Can I have your autograph?’ " Thompson, 63, said.

"Smiling, of course I proudly signed my name and then she said, ‘My grandmother just loves you.' ""I guess that’s better than getting mistaken for Coach Phil Fulmer, which happens all the -time," Thompson said, adding to the laughter.

And this is a funny one for you Fulmer haters:

I'll say we will lose at least one just because two years in a row is tough to do.

I don't think we'll go undefeated at home...but I don't see us dropping more than 1 or 2 games at TBA either.

I'm more anxious to see how much we improve on the road. Hopefully, our experience and chemistry will help us win more games away from Knoxville.

Leno asked Russert the question "Who are hatvol96's two least favorite Tennesseans?"

And Kenny Chesney had already been mentioned?

I think we have a better shot next year than we did this year, at least on paper. It's important to hold serve at home and then go get some good road wins. I think the guys have grown up a bit and will handle the road better.

If Conley and Oden return

they'll still be tough - at least as tough as UT. ridiculous recruiting class, plus some studs returning next year (Butler, Cook, Lighty, Hunter). I can't imagine Oden staying another year, but if Conley stays, they're going to be scary.

I don't know if Cook stays if Oden and Conley leave. From everything I've heard, all will stay or all will go.

Realistic expectations are to split with UK and Fla. and probably lose 1-2 other home games. We had a sick run at home this year (Texas, Fla., Vandy, Memphis). If they surpass that, great.

And I agree - the key is winning the "should win" games on the road.

We have a better chance than this season than we did last, but it will be really hard. I would say we will lose 1 or 2 at home.

I don't think Cook is projected highly at all, but the 3 have been playing together forever(which is why they signed with OSU, because OSU recruited Cook the hardest while others were on Conley and Oden) and want to go through at the same time.

That is part of the topic. I'm discussing why or why not OSU could be a big threat.

O, and you stay on topic. South Carolina has 0 chance of beating UT at TBA next year. It's not even remotely near the realm of on topic.
