I would want Fla fans to pull for us if we were in the big game.I don't think it has anything to do with being a true fan

No one loves the dude, he is a great quarterback and that is all we are saying. When he is playing against any team, he is a threat....He can pass, run, and run your a$$ over! No one wants to date the dude....FYI

Explaining anything to this nutcase is a waste of valuable brain cells. I've written him off as simply being obsessed with Tebow. You know that old Shakespearean quote " I thinketh thou protesteth too much". He's simply trying to hide his true man-love emotions.

If I can ONLY root for UT, it would be a longgggggg FB season. UT is my favorite team, but if they are not playing in the game of my interest. I'll root for any damn team I please. Grow up bud!!!

I would mostly agree with him, not that people on this board have a love affair with the gators. But it seems like everyone else does, I could careless about them and from what I have seen they arent very gracious winners. I have no respect for their fans or their team.

I jumped off the SEC is the Best bandwagon last year and don't plan on jumping back on anytime soon. It's not that I don't feel that way, but my team hasn't sniffed a championship in 3 years while other SEC teams are defining the era. And even though I LMAO at Ohio State and OU losing another BCS game, I think I would look pretty stupid to discount their accomplishments when my team is batting 62% the last 3 years. The SEC doesn't have to win the NC every year to be the best conference in the nation. The proof is in the stadium sizes, the passion of the fanbases and rivalries, the coaching salaries, and the number of guys in the NFL.

As far as rooting for UF or UGA, I can't do it. What good does UF winning 2 out 3 championships do for me when my team is 5 and 7? The only thing it does is widen the gap between us. Recruiting just got easier for them and it will take a decade of us beating their butts until we live it down. I admire Tebow and believe his college career is the best I have ever seen. I believe he is genuine in his faith and don't mind his celebrity one bit. He is a great role model and deserves everything he has earned. However, I absolutely can't stand Urban Meyer. He is a low-class weasel looking d-bag who needs his butt kicked. If anything, I can't stand that a man like Tebow plays for such a slimeball.

I rooted for OU b/c I hate Florida. I don't have to be a public SEC diehard b/c I'm a UT fan we have had our days in the sun. And until we earn respect for our own accomplishments, I will leave the excuses and justifications based on conference strength to the Cocks and Bulldogs. That's who I think of when I hear that crap, someone whose team hasn't done crap in 25 years. And hate to break it, but the SEC wasn't the best conference this year top to bottom. There hasn't ever been that many mediocre teams in the conference. There was 2 good QB's, 2 good RB's, 3 good WRs and 25% of the coaches got axed.

I loathe bammer, the dawgs and the gators.
We have pretty much hit rock bottom. While I hate the gators I must admitt that they are good. As I wrote in my original response, I wish I could steal the whole gators Team and put VOLS jerseys on them.

Agreed, it can be a challenge to root for your rivals. I sat in the Bama section at the sugar bowl and could not bring myself to root against the Utes. I did pull for the Gators in the NCG, and I do respect what they have accomplished.

Having said that, I share dual loyalty in college football. I am a UT grad and Vol fan, but grew up an Iowa Hawkeye. On game days I proudly (and somewhat ritualistically, I must say) sport my 'Herky is my homeboy' t-shirt beneath my orange-du-jour. I keep up with the Hawks as much as I can, but honestly I leave the obsessing to my brothers. I waste AT LEAST as much time as the OP on this and other UT boards. I do not waste my time with the NFL until after the NCG. Dual fanhood is not for the faint of heart, but it can be achieved.

Sounds like someone needs to be quiet. I can root for whoever I like. I love Tennessee, and that's my favorite, but I do have other college teams I root for.

Im not ashamed to say I pull for the other S.E.C. teams when they play in bowls or out of conference, I don't sit in front of the tv yelling go bama or go gators. This doesnt mean I am a fan of those teams, but I am a fan of UT and the Southeastern Conference! I do support the best conference in college athletics in general.

I actually agree with this post. How can you pull for one of your biggest rivals just because they are in the SEC. I have never understood this argument. I hate Florida and will NEVER pull for them. I already know we are the best conference, so I could careless if Florida won or lost. I wish they would have got destroyed actually.
