I posted a thread about not being too impressed with Florida and I got jumped on like this is a Florida Gator message board. I mean where is your pride folks? I have never been so sick to my stomach to hear all you jump on the gator train and defend them and Tebow to the bone. I mean are you a Tennessee fan or a Florida fan. The way I look at it is:
1. You are not supposed to root for another team no matter whether they are SEC or not. Tennessee is your team and if your a true fan, stick to it.
2. Why in the hell would you root for another team that is considered one of the biggest rivals to us?
3. I would be pure ashamed to root for Florida, Bama, UGA, or any other SEC school besides Tennessee. Hell I even hate the out of conference teams.

Sounds like to me that there are some people here that need to go get behind Meyer and Tebow and get down on their knees and pucker up.

There is no need to be in denial that Florida and Tim Tebow are good and better than UT is at this point.

Wow. You are actually saying you can't recognize a player for his abilities simply because he's at another school?

That's... awesome man. Whatever makes you happy, but I guess I can't see how a life so full of hatred would be fulfilling. I love UT football above all others, but to admonish an athlete because of his collegiate affiliation is retarded.

Anger, Fear, and Aggression. The dark sides of the force are they.

Your thread was garbage. Hence why I didn't post in it. Your reasons for not liking the Gators or Tebow were all ridiculous. If you come to this board with crap posts and don't back it up, you can expect to have that reaction. Just so you know in the future and to prevent any other useless threads like this one. Also realize that if you start a thread on a topic, you should have good reason and it should be something that people want to discuss. Otherwise, you're just wasting everybody's time.

I am not in denial nor am I jealous, they are better but do you really sit here and wish that they would win the national title or really sit here and wish good luck to Tebow. I guarantee that if Tennessee was playing for the NC, Florida wouldn't be rooting for us and their fans wouldn't give a crap.

it's called being realistic and not an ignorant homer. yes i am a "real ut fan" and hate florida with a passion. but i'm not going to sit there and say florida hasn't run the table the last few years. take off the orange blindfold.

Sounds like you need to do the same except replace Gainesville with anywhere you could get a life.

Sounds like someone has a very hard time allocating brain cells to two differing, potentially opposing, ideas.

Are you trying to tell me that being restricted to a wheelchair means you can't be a real UT fan?

I never have been a UF fan, and never will be...but I respect their accomplishments.

And if you want people to understand where you're coming from a little better, I would suggest not dropping a homophobe slang word at others.

By the way...your original thread and this most recent post/drivel carries absolutely NO weight.

Never ask who is a real UT fan. The answer will always be based on some nebulous criterion supplied by the one asking the question and not on any universal constant.

Tennessee is my Alma Mater and will always be my first love among universities, but who I choose to cheer for is none of your concern and does nothing to take away from my orange blood.

Real Vol fans don't have to ask such silly questions and qualify them with such ridiculous requirements. We know who we are; you're just looking for likeminded zealots and fanatics.

Admitting that another program is better at this point while hard, is being realistic. That doesn't make you less of a fan of your team.

I always think of the fans in the front row of a game pulling for their team and holding up the "we're number 1 finger," Don't matter if they are 2-6, and losing the game by 3 TD's.

Priceless!

There is a difference in rooting for another team, and recognizing achievement.

I hate the Gators, but I can't knock what they have accomplished.

talking about tebow on a message board = obsession?

he's been a very successful qb in a great conference. its hard not to discuss the hot topics around the league, especially on a college sports forum. get real.

Acknowledging a team for what it has accomplished is not the same as rooting for it. I post this with the realization it is all but impossible for you to understand the distinction.

I always pull for an SEC team to win in the Bowl games. It can only reflect favorably on UT when SEC teams win. Again, I am most likely wasting my time with this.

Hatred is a dicey thing to play with if you cannot handle how to control it. It's like a ten year old having a .357 Magnum.
