How in God's name did the people at UT that care about football allow even KY. and Vandy to get better than is in football? It's unthinkable.

With 8 games left, there's plenty of time left for this team to embarrass the Tennessre fans and themselves over and over again.

You know it's bad when you just want the pain of watching this underachieving bunch of players to be over.

I'm sure there those that want to watch this team and follow this season to fruition, but it's going to be difficult to watch to say the least.

I'm praying for a miracle, but not holding my breath.

Never lose sight of the fact that we are watching 18-20 year old kids kick a leather ball around. Sure it's fun when the game goes our way. Regardless, it's just a game. It's atmosphere, tailgating, being around friends and family at the games, and yes, eating some good food and, for some, some drinks. It's not about the destination, it's the journey. UT will be back. Don't waste this season just looking for the W.

In all seriousness I used to get so excited for the start of college football!!! Now I honestly just want it to be over. I hate the pitty I receive here in South Georgia!! I don’t want it, I want them to dislike me and hate the vols during football season, instead they treat us both like we are their little cousin with Down’s syndrome.

Why not just let team coaches and players do what they do and just watch?

The most disheartening thing was to see some of the players on defense just give up. UFs 3 2nd half TDs were simply because our guys stopped playing.

Honestly there wasn't a culture of anything before Butch. We're too many bad hires in now. These players know nothing but losing and getting embarrassed on national TV. I think Butch lucked into Josh Dobbs or he'd been gone in 3 years. He should of did everything he could to keep his staff he brought from Cincy here and he didn't. The clowns he hired after that got his job ultimately.

Indeed, thanks for reminding that just 1 player like Dobbs can change the dynamic of the team

I actually really like this idea but no so much just for the excuse. We are not going to make a bowl game this year. We almost had to beat Florida to even have a shot at it. The rest of this season simply has to be improving for next year. Give the youngsters playing time. Let them get some big game experience. Make Lemonade out of lemons.

I guess, it's just hard to see how Butch destroyed the culture so throughout, but something is definitely amiss on the hill

Just look at the "0-fer's" with Nebraska, UT, UCLA, ARK, etc, where seemingly well thought of coaches are struggling to have any real impact on this year's record. We and others didn't get in this spot over night, and going to take alot of effort to become relevant again. Turning the ball over and shooting ourselves in the foot, to me is something we should be able to affect on the field, at bare minimum.

I knew it would be a difficult season, but didn't imagine it would be this bad. I was pretty hyped for the season even though I anticipated some rough going.

Now, all the enthusiam has disappeared and only empathy remains for this season.

Again praying for a miracle, just not expecting one.

Based on what I’ve seen of the teams we’ve got left, I’m afraid it will take a miracle to win 2 more. We should beat Charlotte and could have a slight chance against Vandy. 3-9 coming.

I think this "culture" bit is a little overblown. Butch didn't destroy the culture. Butch had some bad breaks with excessive key injuries and loss of Dobbs and couldn't handle it! Before that happened, he was a winner. Nine win seasons and bright future. When it turned on him, his ramblings couldn't explain it away and he lost the locker room!

Right now as we speak, Coach Pruitt needs to step up and seize control and he has mentioned that he needs the locker room to be fixed!

Maybe he sees the problem!

Not sure there were many there that cared about football. They cared about the money and the fans kept shelling it out for bad football.. At least Fulmer is in the AD role now. He cares.. The ones before him didn't.

I bet Pruitt would not have taken this job if he knew just how bad things are! I only saw two players really giving their all Saturday. The rest went through the motions. The "house" is infested with mediocrity. The only way to fix it is take the entire house down and build a new foundation, period. A lot of players need to go along with 10% of this fan base who criticize Pruitt for kicking a white board! THAT IS THE ONLY EMOTION I SAW SATURDAY! I GUESS SOME FANS WOULD WANT PLAYERS TO GET PARTICIPATION TROPHIES SO THEY WOULD FEEL BETTER! Now is not a time to show composure!
