A buddy of mine coaches @ Baylor School in Chatt, he worked beside KCooper yesterday and with him today. I'm no expert, but he (buddy) is. He said KC was in GREAT shape. Mentioned that his workout book was customized for HIM. Had his pic on the front, and an obviously detailed workout plan complete with worksheets of sort to keep record of progress. 265 clings is what he said was most impressive, but he was also working a program and not lifting competitively. So bottom line, he's strong. After the workout, KC went to the fb field and ran 12 100 yd SPRINTS. Followed by 12 40 backwards sprints. Like I said, I'm not S+C expert, but that sounds like it would push an athlete past their limits. Which is good. Anyway, just thought it would be a good subject considering Wiley is new as well and its the offseason. Discuss....

Dooley may just be the smartest guy to ever coach in Knoxville. Smart guys surround themselves with the best people and that makes them look good! GBO!!

I could say something, but I'd be marked out as a Kiffin apologist. I hate Kiffin.

I love to hear this. In recent years I've felt like Tennessee hasn't been finishing games, Mentally and Physically. We neeed someone to toughen them up.

I have heard nothing but complete respect for Wylie. Evidently the man is not only a strength coach but really puts a lot of emphasis on making the players become the absolute best players they can be. I haven't heard anything about him giving each player a binder with individual workouts. That is very impressive if true.

I didn't think positive material was allowed? Nice to finally see something that is not negative.

The binders exist. They have pictures of each player on the covers along with "Tennessee Volunteers Football". The first few pages is motivational material. Complete with an EB pic! (Of course). Kevin will be around Baylor for a couple weeks, ill keep any info coming. But man, 12 100 yd sprints?? Geez. I might die.

Wiley was a MAJOR pickup for CDD.

Dooley made a lot of good hires. That's why we all need to sit back and let our coaches do there job and see what happens. Hopefully we can actually develop players once they get on campus regardless of their star status.

This is the kind of thing I like to hear

Yeh. In the end, the guy who gets more out of his 22 kids wins. (Assuming the talent level is not of Bama/Chatt disparity) I want a s+c coach that pushes these guys in the weightroom just as hard as they re pushed on the field/filmrooms.

This is great news. Dooley has hired some bright, young guys - some may be the next Sabans and Meyers. We might have a tough year next, but the systems are getting in place, the relationships are being built, and new foundations are being layed.

I have seen several posts now that give the impression that the team is really buying into the staff. Given the last couple of years of turmoil this is definitely a good sign.

Agreed. I put "buying in" 2nd behind "elite talent", and just in front of "scheme"(3rd).
