Anyone else notice how hard the KY RBs ran, and how tough it was to get them on the ground. Those backs were practically Bama-esque in their toughness. Hopefully, we either have among our incoming RBs or will get some who are this tough.

Didn’t help we had bad technique while trying to tackle them. Hard to tackle a RB high and expect results.

Go back three UK games ago when this "big boy"with the game on the line, 3rd and goal, ran with great effort into a UK developed hole to win the game and one Vol LB stepped in it and put him down like a bad habit. One of the best hits a Vol defender has ver laid on an offensive opponent. Right up there with EB putting Knowsho Moreno up into the Georgia cheap seats. We do not have players with that talent level on this year's defense, they are just not there.

This was the first game that UK didn't lose a fumble by one of their RB's. Usually guys like Rodriguez are prone to fumbles fighting for extra yards maybe our guys do not strip tackling in those scrums.

Rodriguez was a big boy, tackling big boys high usually doesn't end well. It's like they forgot some basic fundamentals during the off week..
Seemed to me there was a lot of "trying to deliver the big hit" without wrapping up, another tactic that frequently doesn't end well at this level...

Lot of RBs can look "bama-esque" when the OL gets a push like UK was getting. Let's be honest...UK had better lines on both sides of the ball. Just an amazing win under the circumstances.

I told my wife (who knows little or nothing about football guess, I just wanted to say it out loud) last night that I hope that in the upcoming offseason the staff could come up with a go9od (no great) big back. We need a big'un to control the ball from time to time and blast into the end zone from 2-5 yards out.

I agree, Al Bundy, 'big uns.'

I don't know if teams go through live tackling drills in practice as much or as intense as they used to. Coaches really put a premium on reducing injures.
