good point 182... milton was spectacular as dual threat qb in high school and can really run it... prob why he needed this time to learn receiver position.. hopefully he comes out strong next year

If it IS run in the future...I just hope that they don't motion and send Bray out as a wideout.

It would be 11 on 10 in that case....

The concept behind the wildcat is that it equalizers the blockers with the defenders. (There is usually one player advantage for the defense since the QB does not block). To make it work, the player has to be able to run between the tackles and have the speed to hit the edge and square the shoulders. Jones would have been ideal if he was a junior. Neale or Oku may be suitable but I'm not sure we have that athlete yet.

Channing Fugate: he was a beast running wildcat in hs. Over 400 yds rushing in one game

its a small percentage of kids that come into college and duplicate or exceed their high school stats. Channing is a good example of that. In high school, he was better than everyone else because not many of his team mates or opponents would go to college to play ball.

Channing is likely to not get 400 yards rushing for his career at Tennessee.

If we're talking about next year, I'd have to go with Tom Smith... It's kinda the only thing he has ever run anyway.

However, he is going to be a hell of a fullback. He should rack up some legit receiving yards before he is done in Knox.

Our wildcat this year was the end around to Da'Rick. Though some may complain that we went to the well too often, it was very effective as the season progressed.

2011 TN will have most of its concerns on the defensive side of the ball, thus will need to focus on stopping the Wildcat rather than focusing on installing it into TN's offense. If Bray improves from his performance this season, the sky is the limit for the passing offense - no need for wildcat.

I'd like to see Devrin in motion and Da'Rick take the snap... Da'Rick gets the ball in his hands, doesn't have to run routes, and Devrin is a big playmaker but definitely not an every down back. I think that'd be fun to watch. Idk if Da'Rick can throw or not though.

The thing that makes the wildcat successful is the ability for whoever it is taking the snaps to throw the ball downfield. I personally think Da'rick would be the most explosive player to man this position however I have no clue if he would be enough of a passing threat to make the safetys and LB's stay in coverage.

I would like to see the wildcat used in goal line and short yardage situations with multiple TE's in the game instead of WR's and have Fugate taking the snap. That would be an unstoppable power run game when needed.

Bray is plenty good enough that we wouldn't ever need to use it in other situations.

If we run a wildcat formation Da'Rick will run it. hes 220 and building with 4.4 speed. If he had good ball carrier vision and afew top WRs came in he could be a RB in 2012.

Teague would be my vote because he did this in high school and can throw... I think the first time we line up in the wildcat you need to put Da'Rick in motion fake the hand off to him on sweep and hit a slant or a post route over the top. So many teams use the wildcat to run exclusively that all you have to do is line up in it to make any DC start yelling "RUN!". Originally, the wildcat formation is the wildcat QB with a FB/H-Back lined up behind an unbalanced line (TE,LG,C,RG,RT,LT- in that order). The motion back would line up opposite the FB and there would be a WR and the QB on the same side as the FB.

Quarterback has to be on the field or else the defense knows its coming before we break the huddle and can get a better playcall in
