Whoa there cowboy, I'm simply defending our D. Only 14 points from the opposing team in three quarters? Not too bad I say. It's because our offense is so anemic that we're losing all these games.

I think this game may get ugly in the 4th if UT doesnt score.

So are you saying our offense gave up a 20 play drive on pretty much the first drive of the second half??

I'm saying teams will invariably score against us and that if we had any sort of offense we wouldn't be looking at that as a dagger in the back. Consider the only way we'd be ahead right now is if our defense was good enough to hold South Carolina to 0 points. Only way we beat Alabama is if our defense holds them to less than 7 points. That's just not realistic. You can't throw the entire defense out every time they get scored on. If our offense woke up we could still win this game.

Turnover on 3 offense doesnt convert.

some of our fans are the laughing stock of the sec but our football team isn't. everybody else knows what we are going thru and they know it's going to take more than a year and a half to fix it.

That's ridiculous. The only thing worse than the playing ability of this roster right now is the ignorance of the fans here that do not recognize how weak that playing ability is.

These coaches may eventually prove not to be worth a dime... but it wasn't coaches being driven 5 yards backwards off the LOS by a pretty weak OL. USCe's RB got over 100 and hasn't made a cut yet. He ran straight up in a straight line.

People keep forgetting how many young kids we have. Coaching didn't help on some of those plays though. But youth definitely a huge factor.

For the most part the D was good but at some point you have to think that it would occur to somone,"Hey the QB is going to run the damn ball!".

haha what is this crap? Our defense only gave up 14 points and put our offense in position to score two times. This was a GREAT game by our defense and ppl are saying our DC needs to go? lol ok

Get off wilcox ass the defense did there job last night! They only score 14 pts. The offense needs to there's.

Completely agree with the last couple of posts. Our D was really impressive for most of the game last night, with limited depth and talent. I'm sold on Wilcox. All of our defensive problems last night are attributable to our offense. I hope we can keep Wilcox for a long time. On the other hand, our offense staff needs a post-season shakeup.

I've played golf for 31 years. Still a 15 handicap.

I've watched football (as an adult) for 30+ years. Somehow, the Patriots and LSU have overlooked me in their coaching hires.

Been flying RC helicopters for years. Still, no call from the Air Cav asking me about strategy in Iraq or Afghanistan.

(sigh) If we are winless in SEC play, it will simply be because this team doesn't know how to win yet, or doesn't have the talent and depth to compete with the SEC elite. Simple as that.

That's the problem.

40 years of watching football does not an expert make.

That, in a nutshell, is what the problem is.

Well...that and global warming.

Go Vols.

If anyone should go off this staff, then it should be Hiestand.

A decline in performance from year one to year two with returning starters is inexcusable.
