Anyone here play the Wii?

There was a time where I put the Wii #2 behind the 360 and in front of the PS3, but those days are gone. I don't hate the Wii but I've accepted it's more novelty than anything. I think it's been a pretty big disappointment, and the whole motion controller thing has been too gimmicky. There are some good Wii and WiiWare games, and I have enjoyed the Virtual Console, but overall I just find the Wii to be really lacking.

I play and like it for the change up;....for some reason the basketball stuff sports resort I find fun; though that is with the motion-plus support which makes the movement more stable

what's really been the big problem with the system was they put all their big name games in the front of the basket early, and it left a gap before stuff would be ready again. I mean (unless you're EA sports) it takes at least like 2-3 years to make a game, and more than that if you want to make it a really good game rather than something that's just "meh, make me money"

In their first year they shot out a mario game, a zelda game, a metroid game, their smash bros game, their mario kart, and really a few more so that they threw out all their big games in year 1/2; that unfortunately for them left the cupboard pretty bare for year 2/3 as everything had to be developed again and Nintendo doesn't have the best 3rd party support

Yeah, I agree they released a lot early and it left us waiting. Not to mention 2 of Nintendo's early big games were basically GameCube games (Zelda was a GC port and Super Paper Mario was developed for the GC and switched to the Wii at the last minute). I did like Super Mario Galaxy fine, but I'm not excited at all about Super Mario Galaxy 2. I guess part of it is I've finally gotten to where I think I've "outgrown" Mario....and to an extent Zelda. I think Metroid is the only Nintendo franchise I like anymore.

Wii is a cool box that can run a ton of cool software. However, if it wasn't hackable, I wouldn't be the least bit interested it. I used one in the bedroom for playing old emulators and watching DVDs. Never really got much use.

Yeah I can agree. I think everyone reaches that point; depends all on what you look for in games alot too as well

As for the last part, you would be in luck with the next metroid game comes out June 27
