My duaghter wants a Wii for Christmas and my wife says she would like the Wii fit package. I'm mostly a sports gamer, is there anything to get me excited about?

I agree...

IMO The sports games on the Wii are VERY kiddish.

they're intended to be family oriented i think

the wii sports is enjoyable to play with other people but it's nothing like hardcore, in your face, booyah football madden or anything

I bought a Wii for my kids to have this Christmas. I was kind of expecting the complimentary game to be kind of generic. Are the store bought games better?

Some of the games are... like i enjoy the golf game, and they have like guitar hero and stuff like... ive seen my share of games that are a waste of money... i'd check out game reviews before buying one then you'll know if it's worth the money or not... because those games are not cheap...

Actually the included Wii Sports is one of the top 5 or so games available for the system.

Wii Fit is amazing. It will make you sore very easily.

Wii Sports has some good games. Wii Party Games is very good and $10. I played NCAA 09 on the wii and it was a joke.

Bowling is good, boxing is good, and strangely, tennis is a lot of fun.

Tiger Woods is the best game I have played on mine.

Bowling, Tiger 09, and some of the arcade games are really fun with a party. I too bought NCAA 09 without renting it first and I am very sad. I am hoping that they fix it up like the xbox 360 by next year.

depends on the game. some of the more nintendo based developed ones look great - mario galaxy comes to mind here

Mario Galaxy has the best graphics on the Wii and they are still horrendous. The only reason I'd get a Wii is for the party aspect and even then I could just get Rock Band/Guitar Hero World Tour for my 360.

The Wii is good for the holidays and gatherings. Everyone can play including grandparents. But as far as a serious gaming experience you have to go elsewhere. Wii Fit is fun but it won't satisfy you if you are really into serious sports games.

I've been digging the Wii Sports Tennis.

There's a guy on the Wii baseball team that's really getting under my skin - you know how they stare at you after they make an out...

Go to Blockbuster and rent games before buying them. You'll be glad you did.

Wii Fit isn't the same as Sports. It's fun (hula hoop, slalom skiing, yoga, etc).

The Wii is very cool as is the sports disc that comes with it. We have the Fit as well, my wife uses the hell out of it.

What's cool is it will definitely bring the family together, me, my wife, our 5yr old daughter and the 2yr old play it.

However, the PS3 is there right next to the Wii for when they all go to bed and I want to get online with Nascar 09 and cuss and lie with other folks.

:)
