Ill start by saying I know very little about the two. I have played the Kinect a few times and enjoy it. But this system will be a gift for my kids at Christmas. So which has a better selection of games , for children, that use the motion sensors?

How old are your children? Wii is easier to use, but Kinect is far superior technology....the Kinect can just be frustrating some times...like Saturday when I was watching the Tenn game on my ESPN app, the Kinect kept thinking I was wanting to change to a different game when I would scratch my head (happens a lot during a UT game), so I had to unplug it.

I get way too much of a kick out of the voice command.

i've never even messed with the kinect but just looking at variety of games for kids/family time, plus some old classics here and there, you can't go wrong with the wii. kinect i think got off to a bad start and it's something i don't think microsoft is ready to give up on so there might be more/better games coming for it but i still think wii is a much better option, especially if it's mainly for the kids.

the kinect is a ton better than the Wii, the tech between the two isnt anywhere close. The Kinect sold over 8 million units in the first 60 days it was availible. As far as the software or games with it, unless you are a big fan of using a gaming console to do yoga or cardio, there are very limited games for it right now. Most of the newer games can utilize the kinect for certain things, but as far as kinect only games, the pickens is slim. If you have young kids, then based on that, I would say go with the Wii, due to the game libray they have in comparison to the xbox for kids.

The new Star Wars Kinect makes it alone worth it. Light saber in one hand, telekinesis in the other....

Might want to check out the WiiU. It's Nintendo's new system. It looks pretty slick for what it is.

i think it's something that everyone thought was going to be the best new thing but the support wasn't there. i'd be interested in how many of those 8 millions people still have/use theirs

If you're going to go Wii, definitely go for the Wii U. The Wii is dead and has been realistically for about 2 years at least, save for Zelda: Skyward Sword last year.

The Wii U is powerwise on par with the 360 and PS3, maybe even more powerful (I don't know the exact specs).

Do any body has some more gaming option for kids.
