I thought you were referring to the V Tech QB's reaction after learning he would be up against Eric Berry.

I thought this was going to be in reference to locals being afraid of the mass of Orange headed their way.

OK, I'll bite...what is Widespread??? This better not be a dirty joke!!!:)

If you have to ask, you probably don't want to go.

WSP is a fantastic alternative-rock band, popular since the early 90s, that plays epic sets known for frequent guitar and percussion-driven jams. They get a little bit of a ding from the pop-music culture for their cult-like following of post-modern hippies who often tour the country, following them and selling anything they can to pay the way. It may be a stretch, but think of them as carrying on the Grateful Dead torch.

If you aren't bothered by a little pachtouli (sp?) and other "aromas," you should catch a show. They are amazing musicians and songwriters. Should be one heckuva show.

If the OP would have put Panic in there, I probably would have gigured it out I'm sure. I have to admit though, I have never heard of them. I still listen to alot of Rock n Roll and I'm almost 40. I grew up in the 80's so that should tell you where most of my music tastes lie.

I'm 33 and they became popular with the college crowd when I was at UT. Check out a few songs on iTunes or YouTube. You may be missing out!

Their remix of the Blue Oyster Cult song Godzilla is great
Their remix of the Nelly song Hot in here is great as well
I prefer when they do a remix of famous songs, their original music is to twangy and country for my taste

Light Fuse, Get Away is a great place to start for anybody looking the get into The Spread. also check out Live In The Classic City.

easily my favorite band.

be weary though because they lost their lead guitarist ('02) and just recently found a replacement ('06-current) to fit their older style.

Widespread Panic is an alt-rock jam band that every kid gets into when they go to college for some reason.

The better question is why is this posted in Tennessee Football forum?

I will be out of town on the 30th or I would be there with a "Tall Boy"! They play Atl roughly three times a year and are incredible live if you have never seen them. I saw them here last year at Lakewood and it was of the best sets I have seen in roughly 40 shows. Good to see people having great taste in music on this board!

WSP
And for the record, they are a big jam band.

I'll be there. Just caught Knoxville, Nashville and Houston on this last leg. The boys still got it!

I think my principles are reaching an all time low.
