sheer numbers we win hands down...but i can't argue about the lack of one definitive name to boost us up to the number 1 ranking.

should have included Stanley Morgan
over 10,000 yards in his NFL career

No mention of Anthony Miller or Donte Stallworth (who deserves a mention if Kelly Washington gets one), just to name a couple.

Maybe I'm just remembering what I want to remember, but my memories of 1989-1991 were such that Alvin Harper was a far superior receiver to Carl Pickens. Granted Pickens was a so-called Heisman candidate in '91, but it was always Harper who made the big plays and huge catches in 1990 (his catch and run against AU in 1990 is legendary). Not to mention that Pickens is living up where too many other top UT receivers are currently living, err, incarcerated.

Honestly I hate this school, but I think in all honesty the U should be on top of that list.

How in the hell can they leave Andre Johnson off of the the Miami list? There are a few holes in that article.

Pretty good read though.

I'm a bit surprised that Willie Gault did not make the top 5 in Tennessee wide receivers. In my opinon, Willie Gault is THE most recognized Tennessee receiver.

Harper was a very good college wide receiver. Carl Pickens was clearly better.

Thanks for the thread 423vol. Great read. Brought back a lot of memories. People talked last year about Percy Harvin, but Gault absolutely left people in the dust. Carl Pickens went up and got the ball numerous times and had tons of yards after the catch. Did anyone notice the top RB and QB schools? Vols not in the top 10 in either category.

Willie Gault was one of the fastest ever in the NFL. Homeboy was in the Olympics for godsakes.

No problem Teeman. I think great things are on the way for our program once again. With the depth we have a RB, and the recruiting ability of the staff, we could be known as RB U before too long!
