Vols historically ranked third in best programs for WR's:

Maybe I'm just remembering what I want to remember, but my memories of 1989-1991 were such that Alvin Harper was a far superior receiver to Carl Pickens. Granted Pickens was a so-called Heisman candidate in '91, but it was always Harper who made the big plays and huge catches in 1990 (his catch and run against AU in 1990 is legendary). Not to mention that Pickens is living up where too many other top UT receivers are currently living, err, incarcerated.
Thanks for the thread 423vol. Great read. Brought back a lot of memories. People talked last year about Percy Harvin, but Gault absolutely left people in the dust. Carl Pickens went up and got the ball numerous times and had tons of yards after the catch. Did anyone notice the top RB and QB schools? Vols not in the top 10 in either category.
No problem Teeman. I think great things are on the way for our program once again. With the depth we have a RB, and the recruiting ability of the staff, we could be known as RB U before too long!
