The 2003 USC team didn't almost lose a game, they lost one.

It was claimed that they weren't close to losing another one. I believe they nearly lost to Stanford both championship years.

I know they almost lost to Stanford in '04. I was in the Bay Area and watched the game at Lefty O'Doul's.

Well thanks for the input on this thread i started.... however i would still like to know everyones input as to why Tennessee fans have to keep waiting till next season...... year after year and year after year like we do.....And nothinggggg ever seems to change with them with the backing of funds that rolls through that UT program in knoxville you would think that we should and could be proud of our team instead of walking off the field with our heads down..........I SAY FIRE THE WHOLE D8MN CREW UP THERE AND LETS START OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They destroyed Stanford in 2003. The only game, other than the game they lost, that was within 14 was Michigan, so I do believe there was no few plays in a game that could have kept them from the national championship.

They did not play anybody during the season.

They beat Florida, who dominated everyone they played, like 700-3. Actually it was more like 62-24.

But I find it hard to believe that Tommie Frasier could continue to run on Vilma, Reed, Williams, Buchannon, and co.

nebraska 1995, best team ever. i am a hurricane fan but in my opinion that husker team would beat the 2001 cane team.

I was mistaken, but it doesn't matter. They were still lucky. They lost a game and still got to be national champions. That's even luckier than UT's fumble recovery against Arkansas.

I could agree with that. The team that was really lucky to be there though was Oklahoma.

yeah I feel what you are saying. There def needs to be some changes to get TN back to being a respectful program. At the same time though, there are way more fans of teams that will never be on the level that TN is on right now, which isnt saying much, but you get the idea.
