I was just watching the Depaul vs. Airforce halftime show and Doug Gottlieb was breaking down the UT vs. OSU matchup tomorroow. He talked about how OSU possibly had the best freshmen in the country. He then said that Tennessee also playe several freshman...Wayne Chism, Ramar Smith and JaJuan Smith. WHAT?!?! He then picked OSU to win the game of course.

Get your facts straight before you go on air! Why should we believe anything they say when they don't even know what class our 2nd best player is?! I HATE ESPN!

Give the poor guy a break. He's breaking down a gazillion teams on a nightly basis. He can be forgiven for daring to not know how old somebody is.

I think ESPN has given the Vols and especially Bruce Pearl a lot of good press. They love Pearl.

No lie . . . In the last couple of days, Pearl has been on Cold Pizza and PTI while Summitt was on Rome's show this afternoon.

I'll give him a break, but I'm just saying it makes what he says a little less credible.

Fact is, Tennessee is one of the 16 teams left in this tournament. The guy should be able to speak intelligently. If you don't know who the three freshman are, don't bring it up.

I'm not buying the ESPN bias but it definitely shows ignorance on that guys part.

He was also on Mike & Mike in the Morning that day.

Even if some of you hate the show for some reason, it still counts. :good!:

The problem with having a 24 hour sports network (or 3) is that you have to talk about sports 24 hours a day. Fill up that much airtime with human beings with comments flowing from their mouths and you are bound to get mistakes. Confusing Smith with Crews does not register on the "stupid things said by people on ESPN" meter.

Great point! My wife hates watching sports with me because of the commentating. you will undoubtably have one say something like "for Tennessee to beat Ohio State they are going to have to Outscore them" well DUH! Isn't that the point of winning the game!!! Score more points than the opponent.

Just got back from hanging with some texas fans and they think ESPN hates them. Same for my friends in Oklahoma, and Ohio. It is all relative. They are sick of seeing Pearl all the time so when I tell them that people in TN think ESPN hates them, they just laugh. Dude made a mistake and he should have known better at this point but I am sure he is tired. God knows I am not perfect when I have been putting in OT like a madman.

At least we're still around at this point in the dance to have bad commentary about us ,instead of 1 and done .

I got to see the Vols play a lot of times this year on ESPN so I'm glad they are around. That being said, I think they had a BIG part in Peyton getting screeewed out of the Heisman.:cray:

I heard ESPN killed JFK, invented mad cow disease, and that the "alien "crash at Roswell was actually the first ESPN satellite
