It's a lost cause...

Most on here simply can't see beyond the rims of their BIG ORANGE GLASSES.....

What makes it so bad is that we at Tennessee will probably NEVER get a chance at the playoffs without the very real possibility of having to beat Bama twice in one season....

However--lets say we manage to beat Bama in the regular season and go undefeated in the regular season....then lose to Bama or any other team from the WEST....in the SEC championship game....

We could literally be 12-1 and NOT get a chance to be in the playoffs....and lose that playoff position to either a 1 or 2 loss B1G or other BIG 5 conference champion...or worse even still....lose a chance at a playoffs to an undefeated team like Memphis, Houston, etc...etc.....

this scenario is EXACTLY the reason why we want the SEC to dominate the bowls and playoffs...to prove the overwhelming superiority of competition levels in the SEC....over EVERY CONFERENCE!

I mean--Iowa finishing ranked in the top 15 above us--really.....really.....anyone on here really think that Iowa is a better football team than the VOLS this season????

I'm glad Bama won the NC. It will be nice to beat the reigning natonal champion in October then again in Atlanta in December. 2016 going to be a good year

I never pull for Bama...ever. They could play North Korea and I wouldn't pull for Bama. I wanna beat Bama 25 years in a row, beating them 77 - 0 every time, demoralizing them to the point of shutting down their football program permanently. But then I wouldn't have anyone to hate as much....other than Floriduh. Hate is a funny thing.

Was Iowa ranked higher because our conference is perceived weak? Winning matters. Winning the conference matters. Bama winning has no effect on next year or us. There will not be two SEC teams in the playoff. It is about winning the conference. We have never met Bama in the SEC championship game. Our conference was set up with UT on one side and Bama on the other for a reason. We beat Bama in October they are likely out of it. Bama beats us and we are out of it. All of the root for the conference stuff doesn't matter. Tennessee winning matters and is all that has ever mattered if you are a Tennessee fan.

You didn't even learn anything from this season, did you?

Bama got into the SEC championship with 1 SEC loss this year--are you so detached from reality that you can't understand that???

Let's say we go undefeated and give Bama 1 loss--if Bama goes undefeated in the SEC WEST...and has their only loss to us--we would meet in the SEC championship...

Can you not understand that simple fact??

I totally understand the scenario but history shows it is not likely. We have been to five SEC championship games and have yet to meet them twice. I still don't get why we should root for Bama though. If we go 12-1 and lose the championship we would not get in.

It COULD HAPPEN! and I do believe that it eventually WILL happen!

And unless you can't--or haven't read what the playoff committee has continuously said......strength of schedule MATTERS....and having a STRONG conference MATTERS!

not rooting specifically for Bama---but pulling for ANY SEC team each and every year to win it all....

but I'm done because you're not gonna get it no matter how logical the arguments.....

Just a side note for you---all of you guys do know that Peyton Manning has flown to Tuscaloosa and met with Saban at Saban's request to help him understand the mechanics of HUNH...and to learn from Saban how Ds attempt to defend the HUNH....

It's clear that he doesn't share the HOMERISH Bama hate that you guys ooze.....I guess that he should turn in his VFL card, too......:crazy:

A criteria for the playoff is to avoid rematches and they also consider geography and conference champions. There will not be two teams from the same conference in the playoff.

TN doesnt get a national championship trophy.....but one of our chief rivals gets another one added....their 4th one in 7 yrs.



No way am I rooting for them to add a trophy every yr.....senseless
