I may be wrong on this, but I believe Hugh Freeze is one of 2 coaches who has beaten Saban in back to back seasons. That’s pretty impressive. At the same time, we all need to remember that he’s not the second coming of General Neyland. I feel like I’m drinking the Kool-aid a little bit because I’m so thirsty for a winner.

I legit don't know anything about Hugh Freeze. Is he a good motivator, good strategist, good recruiter, etc? I know he had a good record at Ole Miss in the SEC west and is doing well at liberty. But why would he do well at Tennessee?

On that last note, are his past troubles an indicator of how well he would do? Like can he actually recruit high end talent without cheating (or getting caught lol)

He is probably going to USC, so we will be able to see how well he does in his second SEC gig up close and personal.

As soon as he doesn't win us the SEC east every year it will the same crap again. He might do well, that would be great, but we might as well be discussing how well Gruden will do here for all the good the discussion will do. Freeze could not handle the temptation of running what was considered a second tier program. He drug the bottom of the barrel before leaving. I hope he has righted the ship in terms of his faith, but could he resist the bigger city lights of Knoxville? It is humorous how fickle this fan base is. SEC west means you have a couple of really good teams and a bunch of ehhh. Kind of like the SEC east right now. HE would have to contend with Georgia and Florida every year. He would still have to contend with Alabama every year.

Because Freeze has already beaten him twice, with vastly inferior resources to what he would have here. Freeze could pull a #1 recruiting class if he were here. And that level of recruiting, every bit as much as game-day competence, is what has been missing with our last three HCs.

Freeze knows how to score both on and off the field.
So what if he has to pay (players and hookers) to score.
im ok with that. I’m ok with him preaching the playbook and the good book and still cheating in football and his marriage.
