The fans are kucfing crazy here. Don't say money. Anybody that will come for big money can go anywhere else for big money and not have to recruit out of state and compete with bama lsu fl ga sc ar every year. Please tell me why a coach would want to come here knowing how ignorant our fans are about how depleated our roster is and how we want the whole coaching staff gone after 2 years. Why the hell do you think we hired Dookey in the first place. NOBODY wants this job and to be honest I don't blame them. One more thing. Coaches that come for money have a dream job they will take for less then you all will threaten to burn his house down and wish his first born dead. IMO....wait no that actually happened. So fact. The only reason a coach is gonna come here is if we have no attrition over a 4 year period with all top 10 recruiting classes and he knows it will come down to his coaching ability. Did this on my bb so anyone that wants to flame me for grammer and spelling can kiss my a**

We hired "Dookey" in the first place because Hammy wanted a diamond in the rough. There's a reason they're cheaper.

2 million per yr might sway a few people

Name one coach that our whole crazy fan base would be happy with. Here is the kicker..... For 2 mil. CUM is set to make almost 7 a year and he does not have to compete with anyone in his conference that is as good as our 5th best team.

When you lose to UK and they didn't even have a QB, that's not the fanbase being ignorant for wanting a guy gone. That's calling a spade a spade when they see that a guy is flat out worthless at his job. I've never particularly cared for DD, but was more than willing to give him 3 years to see if he could turn things around. No more of that after today. That loss today should be a fireable offense. Over the past few years it has seemed like there has been one black eye after another when it comes to the UT AD, but today has a new all-time low. This team and their coaches are an outright embarrassment to the university.

We could hire Vince Lombardi and there would still be some people that would *****. However, it's like that at every program.

I don't know where people get this whole, "Tennessee has the craziest fans", idea from. We're actually pretty tame compared to the other fans in the SEC.

OK we get it. We lost to UK. No bowl game. First back to back losing season in eleventy bajillion years. Get a grip! It's called rebuilding for a reason. This isn't NCAA football '12! You can't simulate the first 4 years...

That's nothing for a top coach these days...You'll only get a glamourized assistant coach with that kind of money
most OC's in Division 1 make around 300-500k, I think they might be interested in 2 million, 4 times their salary. Thats if you want to go the cheap route.

YOu will get no argument from me, UT can pay more and would.
The problem is proven winners like Saban or Meyer aren't always out there. Timing is everything.
I only said 2 million because that is roughly what Dooley is making.
Hell, Dooley gets paid somewhere in the $2M range.
That's why I said 2 million

If this coach continues producing these results, then the question will be "Why would a player ever want to come here?"

I'd hate to become Colorado: once great, but reduced to celebrating the first road victory in four years.

Dooley has us heading straight down that path.

Are you really serious? $2 million would get you laughed at. June Jones at SMU makes $3.5 million. Your ignorance never ceases to amaze me, oklavol. That's just sad.
2 million is around what our current HC makes.
I know how much you like him.

That right there is reason enough to send him packing. Dude, they didn't even have a QB on their roster. How can people just excuse a loss like that? Even Vandy beat them by 30 points, and that was when UK still had a QB. No coach who loses to a team that awful deserves to still have a job coaching in the SEC.

Bottom line, Tennessee needs to go out and go full speed ahead for their next coach when they finally do decide to pull the trigger.

We'll have a sense soon enough. If recruits still want to come here, Dooley will get another swing. If we start losing key recruits, I believe the leash will be much shorter. Given the embarrassment the program has endured, it's reasonable to expect that a new AD will be looking for damage control. He's from Bama; he knows what it takes to win.

Yeah see the problem with that is.......... drum roll......... they are still coming here (we are ranked 11 right now) because they actually understand football. See most of them played on a high school team or against a HS team that was playing with Fr and So and they blew them out or got blown out so they understand that we are REBUILDING and what that actually means.

You're not doing any sort of "building" when you lose to the 2011 Kentucky Wildcats. You just suck, end of story.

It's hard for a recruit to resist NFL-like facilities, playing in front of 100,000 people, and playing in what amounts to an NFL development league.

AGAIN>>> TELL me who and why they would even want to come here. I am also pissed about losing to kentucky BUT firing our coach right now will all but gurantee we just lose to them again in a couple years maybe even next year with our next no name coach cause no one will want this job.
