why we will win

Actually when the other team subs and the Ref's don't allow the defending team to sub in... That is bad luck.. They subbed while clock was running.. Ref's should of gave TN the time to make their subs and the clock would of ran out.. That's the reason we had 13.. We subbed in before the other players could get off the field.. Don't even get me started.. it was complete BS..

Hardly. Everyone was set.

Did you miss the 2 players that started to run off and then turned around and came back?

Also, did you consider that when a QB is surveying the field, that 13 members on the opposing defense would make it a bit difficult to succeed offensively?

Are you saying the wise beyond his years Jefferson was surveying the field when he couldn't handle the snap. Maybe he was thinking about kicking someone in the face. :ermm:

Just because the Offense was set wasn't the issue.. The ref that stands over the ball should of never came off of it until TN subbed.. Instead he placed the ball like it was a hurry up offense that isn't subbing.. LSU subbed, TN was never allowed time to sub.. That's where the confusion took place and ended up with 13 guys on the field..

NCAA Rules Changes - 2000 - Football.Refs.Org

Here is the NCAA press release from 2000 when the illegal substitution rule was changed in order to "curb offenses from gaining an advantage over defenses through the use of substitution practices." The press release further states: "Offensive teams, while in the process of substitution or simulated substitution, are now prohibited from rushing quickly to the line of scrimmage and snapping the ball with the obvious attempt to create a defensive disadvantage.

The first time officials detect such an action, play will be stopped when the ball is snapped and the offending team will be penalized five yards for delay of game. In addition, the head coach will be warned that any further use of the tactic will result in a stoppage of play and a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.

"More offenses are utilizing multiple substitutions, and those substitutes are coming onto the field just before the snap, which is not within the spirit of the rules," Ault said. "Defenses were at a distinct disadvantage because they had little opportunity to make necessary adjustments.

"We anticipate that having the possibility of being penalized will encourage offenses to abide by the spirit of the rules and eliminate such last-second personnel changes."

Sounds to me like the correct call would have been a 5-yard delay of game penalty on LSU.

At 0:15 on the game clock, LSU subs 3 players (All WRs) out for the left tackle, tight end and fullback.

At 0:11 on the game clock, Tennessee subs 4 players, but only 2 run off the field.

Both teams were finished with that action when the ball was snapped with 3 seconds remaining.

BS argument. /thread.

The USCG has seen it in it's best interest to station me in Milwaukee, which being from Chattanooga, the 5 foot snow drift I woke up with on my entire drive way last winter was a bit baffling. Never the less The family and I were going to try to make it down for at least one game this year ( a tradition I have almost been able to keep for my 9 years in) and I wanted the LSU game. I was fortunate to have the weekend off last year and watch the game with my then 1.5 year old daughter. Just a side note when she learned her colors she made her daddy proud by giving a hearty "GO VOLS" every time she says the color orange :). We both cheered last year when we won the game on that bumbled snap and both seemed to have the same anger when it was called back. I wanted this game all year. I watched on tv as we got screwed at the the Music City bowl last year and I wanted it even more. We had it set up to come down and stay with the folks, mom would watch the little girl and dad would come with us to the game. Well about eight months ago we got the wonderful blessing that daughter #2 would be coming into the world. Needless to say the 36 week pregnant wife (Pretty much uncomfortable at all times of the day) and I will not be making the 11+ hours down to Gods country this weekend, but I have a small request for all that are fortunate enough to make it to the game this weekend. YELL. YELL as loud as you damn well can. Ill hear you on the TV and they will hear you on the field. YELL with all the anger we felt last year after the game. Yell and let these kids know we will never count them out and we stand behind them all the way. Thanks for your time and GBO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on the new Vol on the way. Enjoy the game at home and thanks for your service.

Why do I feel like 15 post in 6 years is still too much from this cat?

I just watched the video. Should I link it for you?

I did not say how long it took for anyone to substitute. I stated at what time both teams started their substitutions, and I also stated (CORRECTLY) that both teams were completely finished attempting to run guys in/off by the time the ball was snapped.

I am forever an optimist and I believe that every game that the Vols play, the Vols can win. "YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!"

However, if we lose tomorrow and it's a strong possibility, I hope those on here saying that we are going to win don't come back and start the same ol' "FIRE COACH DOOLEY" threads. It could happen.(See I am an optimist)

We have had sooooooooooooooooooo much bad luck over the past few years something has to happen good @ some point right??????????

I remember feeling this same way in the Stovall-Archer-Hallman-DiNardo years at LSU.

It'll come back to UT if the fans demand it.

we could win if LSU trys to impress the voters by running up the score which could lead to turnovers and if they take us lightly.
