LSU beat us with their back-up quarterback 10 years ago to knock us out of the BCS Championship Game. It could definitely be argued that that was a crossroads game that launched LSU into what it is today and began our decline to what we've become.

I don't know how realisitic it is to predict a win, but it sure would be sweet to return the favor and trounce on their title hopes this year.

If luck is preparation meeting opportunity, here's how I see it:

We may have a lot of preparation, but LSU isn't going to give us much opportunity. In games like this, you can get a little bit of "luck", but you've got to make most of it up for yourself.

I still remember sitting at that game wondering what the hell just happened. I didn't say a word from the Dome to the Marta and back to the hotel. It's weird to look back now and know that I had no idea what was to come.

I gotta feeling

exactly, had no chance against bama supposedly but played them to the end.. blocked fg..

had lsu on the ropes when we again did not stand a chance, but came close..
this could be our year if we really play hard

When the rules of football specify 11 players on a side, and we send out 13, that is not bad luck....

Actually when the other team subs and the Ref's don't allow the defending team to sub in... That is bad luck.. They subbed while clock was running.. Ref's should of gave TN the time to make their subs and the clock would of ran out.. That's the reason we had 13.. We subbed in before the other players could get off the field.. Don't even get me started.. it was complete BS..

Same thing happened to me. I was shocked and couldn't wait to get out of ATL, but was stuck there til morning. I hate being in/near the opponent's hometown after a road game, and it was even worse in ATL because the LSU fans were all over my hotel.

Why don't you throw in some voodoo chicken bones and pray to a rock while you're at it?

There is no curse or omens. We had a coach that got laxidasical after a MNC. We replaced him with a retard that ran off much of our roster and recruited talented young men that would never see the field. We replaced him with a coach that is doing a pretty good job of refilling our roster, but has a long way to go.

There is no hidden "luck rift" out there teetering for or against UT. We're in a down cycle. We are not the most talented team to take the field tomorrow. That will change. Until it does, don't get your hopes up based on "repayment" for the "luck-rift's" mistakes last year.

TN in the past has played some great games when no one has given them a chance, I am playing on the pigskinzone.com and picked the vols to win, this may get me into the standings for once or it may keep me where I am every week

The USCG has seen it in it's best interest to station me in Milwaukee, which being from Chattanooga, the 5 foot snow drift I woke up with on my entire drive way last winter was a bit baffling. Never the less The family and I were going to try to make it down for at least one game this year ( a tradition I have almost been able to keep for my 9 years in) and I wanted the LSU game. I was fortunate to have the weekend off last year and watch the game with my then 1.5 year old daughter. Just a side note when she learned her colors she made her daddy proud by giving a hearty "GO VOLS" every time she says the color orange :). We both cheered last year when we won the game on that bumbled snap and both seemed to have the same anger when it was called back. I wanted this game all year. I watched on tv as we got screwed at the the Music City bowl last year and I wanted it even more. We had it set up to come down and stay with the folks, mom would watch the little girl and dad would come with us to the game. Well about eight months ago we got the wonderful blessing that daughter #2 would be coming into the world. Needless to say the 36 week pregnant wife (Pretty much uncomfortable at all times of the day) and I will not be making the 11+ hours down to Gods country this weekend, but I have a small request for all that are fortunate enough to make it to the game this weekend. YELL. YELL as loud as you damn well can. Ill hear you on the TV and they will hear you on the field. YELL with all the anger we felt last year after the game. Yell and let these kids know we will never count them out and we stand behind them all the way. Thanks for your time and GBO!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have had sooooooooooooooooooo much bad luck over the past few years something has to happen good @ some point right??????????

In two of the last three games The Vols had the lead very late in the 4th quarter but could win because of failing to stop LSU from scoring the winning td.

Third SEC game is the charm where the Vols produce with running the ball. The confidence is there with Simms as said it's just a matter of 11 other guys of executing again reminding Football is a team sport.

In the 2nd SEC game imrpovement was shown. Georgia did not score tds until the 2nd half, halftime it was tied, and we had a chance to tie the game on our last possession.

The Vols want to show they aren't going to have another abysmal October. A upset over the Number one team in the Coutnry screams we aren't the same team from last year.

In the last two years The Vols have had two harrowing games vs two Bigshot SEC West teams that most assumed would easily blow them out both on the road.
I think Saturday they can end the bad luck, and it won't come down to having to stop the team from scoring the winning td, or needing to kick a game winning fg.

Plus, we're about due for getting some turnovers. We have players now who got them last year, so it could happen once again.
