Why we WILL/SHOULD beat UCLA

There a simple explanation as to why Tennessee will win easily. UCLA is pathetic.

UCLA shouldn't be overlooked. I've thought the last few years that they have the talent to hang with great teams (knocked USC out of the BSC title game 2 years ago) but just haven't had the coaching. Now they have the coaching. This won't be an easy road game for Tennessee since we have a fair amount of question marks (D-line, new offensive system, punter). I wish this would be a blowout in the VOLS' favor, but unfortunately, I think this game will be a lot closer than we think/hope.

GO VOLS!!!

This is definetly a different year with different players. Their OL situation is just flat out pathetic... last year they were pretty bad.. and their talent is worse this year with graduation, injuries, etc.

because the talent gap is just too big. I don't think we'll be saying the same in a few years but it's true now. This game could get ugly

I know they had a couple of
QB's injured in the spring; would someone give an update on their status, and where the current starter was on the depth chart before this happened.

I heard the other day Ben Olsen should be back to play against the vols but the other QB that was supposed to challenge Olsen for the job is gonna be out for a while

The Bruins do not lack for talent generally, but the lack of talent and depth is concentrated on the OL. Add to that the QB situation and there is plenty of room for concern in Westwood. (Olson and Cowan were hurt on two consecutive NON-CONTACT contact plays in the spring. Go figure.) Olson has recovered enough to be named #1 QB but all Bruin fans are taking a wait-and-see approach on him and the other, younger QB's.

The RB's and WR's should be good - plenty of talent and experience. Of course with a questionable OL and shaky QB play, it's not certain how much of that talent will be able to blossom.

The Bruin kicking game is solid - Forbath was the only PK in the country to hit three 50+ yard FG's last year.

The defense should be good to very good this year.

The big unknown is the Bruin coaching staff. How much of an improvement will there be in the first game from Neuheisel, Chow and Walker? Nobody knows. Even if I knew EVERYTHING about each team I would not bet on this game if you pointed a gun at my head. (Don't get any ideas!)

When are we going to play each other in basketball?

Cheers.

wow, i really feel like we should stomp UCLA..
but after seeing what happened at Cal last year,
i still have a lil doubt..

if we do when , which i think we will, i dont think it'll be by a blowout..

I feel so sorry for the guy (Olson). By all accounts he is a hard worker, a great student, totally a stand-up guy. He's just as brittle as Dresden china. I feel for him.

I have absolutely no idea how this impacts the Bruin's chances vs. TN.

It didn't matter, whoever it is playing QB can't throw off their back.:)
