All Greg Marshall has been doing at Wichita State is win and he still gets no respect because of the weak conference WSU plays in. There is even talk they won't get a #1 seed with a perfect regular season record. I've wondered how long Marshall will stick with the Shockers before moving to a stronger conference so he can shine -- he's as competitive as I've ever seen. I don't have an opinion one way or another on CCM; but, if he's out my choice would be go after Marshall hard as soon as WSU loses in the tourny.

Wait, what's going on with Martin? I haven't read any of the other support martin/don't support martin/BBB posts. Apparently this dead horse is a zombie. Can we just shoot it in the head, instead of beat it, and be done with it please.

I've seen two ESPN interviews with him in the last week. I think he is finally getting a little respect. Also makes his ticket go up.

I don't have a problem supporting the team. That being said, Martin still needs to be gone.

But right now, Martin is the leader of the time. Don't understand how you can "support the team" but still call for the leader's head. Especially at such a critical point in this season.

The thread title should be "Why we need to support the team" and explain the reasoning. Then, this thread would be good.

This sounds exactly the arguments people laid out to keep Dooley late in the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

"We're broke! We can't afford to fire him!"

"We can still make a bowl!"

"No other coach wants to come here!"

Relentless pursuit of continuous mediocrity.

Here's the Cuonzo timeline: Year 1, he overachieves. Year 2, he underachieves. Year 3, he underachieves badly. All the top scorers leave.

Now we're back to "Year 1" again, and I wouldn't be shocked if he overachieves next year and has right back on the bubble once again, and the process continues to repeat itself.

By whose predictions did Martin underachieve last year? Certainly not unbiased, knowledgeable people. Especially after losing Maymon for the whole season.

A coach that has a tourney resume would be a nice start. Btw, it is less likely for Smart to coach on the Hill than the rehiring of Bruce. How do I know this? Steven Pearl told me.

Steven Pearl told me not to trust the guy named PEPPERJAX.

Look, I don't dislike him as a person. Just not much of a coach, IMO.

Spin it any way you want . There's always an excuse for Martin. He has never led a team to the NCAA tourney because he's a bad game coach and even worse recruiter.

You're going to hate your life when he makes it. You'll have nothing to cry about. Actually, you'll find something because you are just that way.

And, by the way, where have I made an excuse for this year? Hmmm? I haven't. I've told it like it is, how Martin doesn't always get help from his players, but also that the buck stops with him. So, that being said, if Hart decides to part ways with him, I won't lose sleep. However, i'm not a schmuck and ***** about everything in every post in every thread on a message board about it.

Tourney or no tourney this year, he needs to go.

Yeah, that'll fly with potential candidates. "We fired a guy who took the job, actually wanted to be here amidst pending NCAA sanctions, overachieved in his first year, met expectations considering losing his hoss on the inside, and then improved into his 3rd year by making the NCAA tournament. Want the job?"

If your first reason we need to support Martin because Bruce is not coming back then you have already blown it. It's emotional for you about the Bruce thing. Let it Go.

The only reason we need to support Martin is because he is the coach. It has nothing to do with Pearl at all.

Are you Bi-Polar? In the same post that you request a show of support for Martin, you mention another coach you would like as a replacement hire. Is this showing support to Martin.

Why don't you just state the reasons for supporting Martin without bringing in the other Coaches or potential replacements.

Then the Cheek thing, if the Board tells him to do it he will. You are not supporting Martin very well at all why do you expect others to do so. You devoted more time to the reasons Pearl will not be here and who you would like as a Replacement versus stating why we should support Martin....

Laughable.

Have you enjoyed the last 3 years? Are you satisfied with the job he's done?
