I love Tennessee football. We all do, this site is evidence. If we
didn't love UT football there would be no Volnation. That's why I love
this website, especially living in Alabama, it gives me some friends
to discuss my beloved vols with.
But why do I love football? Why do I get jitters 2 months before the
season? Why can I not control myself on a Saturday in the fall? Why
will spending all day in front of a tv watching the sport never get
old?
To me it seems that football appeals to us because it is one of the
very few constants in our life. Each year, football helps us to
overcome all sorts of hardships in our life. When we lose a family
member, a job, go through a breakup, divorce, or just feel that we've
hit rock bottom, we can be assured in one thing: football season is
just a few weeks away.
When tragedy comes, we know that the vols will still run through the
"T", we'll still here "It's football time in Tennessee!", and be
surrounded by 102,455 of our closest friends. And in all these
moments, nothing else matters. Nothing but the chills running down
your spine at the tradition of your favorite team.
Every day, even though I'm young, I age and get older. In this I
realize that I, as well as the world around me, is constantly
changing. Nothing will be the same for me as it was at one time. But
in realizing this I see that I can look forward to enjoying one thing
that will never change: when it's Football Time in Tennessee.

Word .. I was 28 yo when we won the NC. I was praying in a bar to please let our boys win this one... Hehe... I remember how happy I was that night for Volnation... All the fans who ever lived.... My brothers overseas rejoicing with me... I just knew it..

Being a Vol makes you a member of a huge family. That is the best part.

It's GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL! Yes ROCKY TOP YOU ALWAYS WILL BE HOME SWEET HOME TO ME. The most beautiful waltz is the TENNESSEE WALTZ. The best sound you can hear early in the fall is IT'S FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE. But nothing sounds better on a Saturday afternoon the TOUCHDOWN TENNESSEE.

While at work yesterday I started thinking about how much work sucks and then I realized that I had practice updates to look forward to went I got home. That always makes life better in the Fall. Looking forward to games has gotten me thru a lot of crappy days at work.
Have thought lots of times about what life would be like without football. Pretty sucky I would imagine. I remember being excited for days after the 85 Sugar Bowl beat down of Miami and the 98 NC.
Butch has us headed in the right direction. Let's enjoy the ride.
