UT has always had home grown coaches, after what Fulmer did to Majors phil didn't want the same thing to happen to him. Nobody was in waiting. Now we are at the mercy of dart board style hires. I am not bashing Fulmer he took the school definitly a step farther,
One of the reasons that we have fallen is due to some of us being spoiled. Yes, I do want U.T. to succeed and it hurts when we lose due to stupid mistakes. Such as poor play calling. A missed field goal. A fumble, etc. and I get angry at the person who caused us the loss.
Remember we were so angry at Arian Foster and made fun of him. Now, he has succeeded above our expectations and I bet that he will never return to campus because he has been so insulted by the fans.
I wish we had a player of his caliber at running back now. Without the fumbling, of course.
Remeber, how we said the game had passed Fulmer by.
Well, I bet most of us can admit that Fulmer would have faired better than what Dooley is fairing. Of course, we wanted Fulmer gone. With him gone, the situation has not necessarily gotten better.
Remember how we wanted Chavis gone, when he allowed UGA to go the distance of the field in less than a minute and steal a win from us? Well, we got our wish and he is gone and the defense is really worse than what he had us playing at....
Let's stop thinking that everyone coach or player would die to come to U.T. and that we can easily replace the current players or coaches with better ones We bleed Orange but people who don't know U.T. could care less and are not really interested in U.T.
I am not saying we should keep Dooley but at least let's appreciate his effort and the way he really loves U.T. and any other positives we find with the magnifying glass.
Hope the next guy hires more alumni. Bring Tee home. L. Little and Al Wilson are really outspoken on twitter, but DD doesn't want to break the rules by having their off-field help.
This is true.. He had help though. Much of that help still has say in what goes on up there..We are in this mess because Hamilton was more concerned with trying to find "diamonds in the rough" than in paying out big money to proven coaches. Big coaches ought to buy big name coaches; let other schools try to scout and develop coaching talent.
We are in the mess because of poor management decisions. Those decisions fall squarely on Mike Hamilton. Hamilton should have canned CPF sooner and made some better decisions in the LK and DD eras (errors).
It is now up to DH to make the right decisions to correct the wrongs. The ball is in his court.
departure of Cutcliffe led to 1st year Clawfense

This! Exactly.
Actually, if you look at the past. When Cut left the first time around, we were winning (hell we won a National Championship in his last season as Offensive Coord).
When he left, things slowly unraveled. When he came back for that 1 season, things were solid again. When he left, it unraveled.
Not saying he is a good head coach, but he is one hell of a coordinator. Then you had Fulmer making bad hires, Hamilton making bad hires and decisions, and then you are left with what we have now.
The best overall team that Tennessee put on the field during the Fulmer era was the 2001 team. Randy Sanders ran that offense.

I think you mean the most talented. with that 2001 Miami-caliber talent, even a monkey could run that offense and win big. oh wait, UT lost to unranked LSU with a backup QB in the SECCG.
