Why was there no trophy presentation at the Outback Bowl?

I wondered the same thing. I guess just because of politics and obama :) Just kidding. There were other games on so I'm sure espn wanted to put them on asap since ours was over at halftime. Would of been nice though to see Jalen Hurd take the MVP trophy

I think the main ones asking were at the game. As to those watching at home if we were too cheap to go, we deserved to miss it. But those folks deserved to see it. I thought they presented all bowl game trophies on the field, unless a monsoon rolled in. If not, bummer.

It took us almost 5 hrs to get just from St Pete to Ocala.. we finally got home after 10 last night, a normal 8 hr drive was 12 and a half hours. Everyone left Florida at the same time ..

LOL Ladies restrooms at the rest areas were backed up, never ever after all our years of traveling have we seen anything like yesterday,,,,, all lanes & ramps backed up.

I was disappointed that the Outback Bowl didn't present the Championship Trophy and the MVP Award in a ceremony where all the fans in attendance could acknowledge the great effort of the team. Everyone around me was expressing the same thing. I really enjoy those moments. I didn't know Jalen won the MVP award until later when I read it on the Internet.

For the 45,000 or so Vols fans in attendance, I would appreciate that either at the Spring Game or the first game that UT show both trophys to the Vol faithful. I'm sure all of us would like to give a standing ovation to Jalen Hurd who played like an All American and battled through his hamstring.

I heard the presentation would be at the Sydney Opera House where the fat lady is warming up in the wings and shrimp are being prepared for the barbie pending arrival of the Vols.

I completely agree! Everyone waited and waited for the trophy to be given but then all of a sudden the team & all commenced to walk off the field. All of us just looked at one another like, "WTH"... LOL but the coconut shrimp and that blooming onion were everywhere.

We walked down to the lower level expecting to see the presentation too. Really the only disappointing part of the entire trip

Honestly, the outback bowl sucked compqred to my experience at the taxslayer bowl. They couldnt even run a concession stand.
Jacksonville was a much better bowl city, I agree. Raymond James being out in the middle of nowhere with nothing around is no comparison to the waterfront of Jacksonville near that stadium. Ybor was fun, but really that is about it.

The drive back was like being in an Atlanta rush hour for 10 hours straight. It was brutal.
How'd you like the Disney traffic south of Orlando? I'd go postal if I had to drive that everyday. And that's precisely why I live on the east coast instead of the west.

The wife and I did not realize there would not be one. We just wondered why they did not do one. It's a cool way for the fans in attendance to thank the players and coaches and to feel like a part of the W! Thank you and go Vols!

Dobbs and Hurd got it for a souvenir with the end zone cones!

Exactly! Half the concession stands were closed. Out of food water and drinks. One worker said they weren't prepared for such a crowd (well...duh). Thot the game ball was suppose to be brought in by sky diver. Appreciate the flyover but was more like a fly behind. And this will host the natty next year?
