Why UT will blowout AU

Seriously, the Auburn faithful are acting like they've beaten 4 top notch programs. They gave up 30 points to an 0-4 team... They had to have 4 turnovers by WVU to beat them... Are you kidding me?

Not to mention they haven't played a road game yet...give me a break

But, but, but they put in their 2nd string D the entire second half...give me a break. Our RBs should rack up some serious yardage this weekend. On another note, I've gone back after every game this year and rewatched several of them a few times over. While JC did make some awful throws, and I do mean AWFUL, at times he made some really good reads/plays. If he is able to get into any kind of rhythm I believe he COULD have a really solid game. I still think this will be a close game where we pull away in the 4th. Crompton's break out game comes Saturday?:crossfingers:

If this is a serious thread and I don't know how many points consist of a blow out, but I would say 21, and if anybody would give me 21 points, I will put however much money on it as you want...Will be in Knoxville Saturday night and we can schedule a meeting place to pay up.

agreed, I would take 21 points with either team

I don't see a blow out either way

BS 3rd and chavis will do a better job at stopping the run than AU, this game will be a 49-28 win for the big orange

Are you serious!? Wow, thats going out on a limb just a bit dont ya think. It would be hard for a running CFB team to hang 49 on PrattvilleVols team.

There will be a lot of interesting match ups this weekend. Your D against our O as a whole, not to mention individual match ups, will be the most interesting. You guys have a very solid ground game which may cause our D some problems. I dont see those backs completely running over us though, our coaches have made good adjustments so far. Nonetheless, that is the strong point for ya'lls offense. I mean there is no secret that Auburn will focus on stopping the run. I seriously doubt you guys will run it every single play, so I like Auburns chances in confusing Crapton into throwing interceptions. Our special teams have been somewhat miserable, so I dont know if this will hinder us. I seriously dont see a blow out either way. For those here that think that, you dont really know football do you?

Agreed. It'll probably be a pretty low scoring game w/ the margin of victory no more than 14pts. As w/ every game we've played and will play, our success/failure will rest on our ability to run the ball and keep the turnovers to a minimum. Still don't know what to think about Auburn this year; Saturday should be a good measure for both teams moving forward.

I absolutely agree. Def. will be a good measuring stick as far as competition goes in the SEC. Auburn will need to minimize turnovers as well, which havent been so much the problem. Our has been drive killing penalties. Auburn can be successful early if we can score early to take some of the sting out of the home crowd.

Close, physical, and typical SEC match-up... I don't foresee a "blow-out" by either team. Of course, I'm pulling for my Tigers but, being realistic, I don't know what to expect when all things are considered; i.e. environment, on-the-road, "hostile" crowd (and I mean that nicely), night game, ESPN, etc.

You guys haven't won a meaningful game, and act as if your team is far superior to ours. We have a legit scoring threat at every skill position on offense. We have 4 running backs that could take it to the house on any play. Our wideouts are making huge catches in traffic, and scoring on the regular. Todd is on fire, and his arm looks strong. Not to mention we line up fast, and run numerous plays a game. Good luck getting defense subs in. We have several fromations that cause stress on a defense. We will give up some points on defense, but can Tennessee score 28, 30, or even 40 to stay in the game? We shall see. I just don't think that tennessee has any room to feel like they are light years ahead of auburn at this point, or that this game is in the bag. Remember '04 anyone?

If we can score 28, we win.

Defense or special teams will have to provide some of that. And I don't mean a "short field"; they will have to take it to the checkerboards.

I hope I'm wrong, but my spider-sense is tingling on this one. I think Aubbie is coming to play, and it could start rolling downhill on our depleted units. A 4-0 team is a confident team at this stage, and by being underdogs, I think Auburn comes to town with something to prove.

Ohio demonstrated our...... errr, passing game.... is not going to keep anyone honest at this point. The RBs are going to be running into nine guys every play. This season feels like 2005 all over again, except we had an elite defense then, and better QB play. But look where that got us.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think this could get ugly in all the wrong ways. It may portend a very ominous October for Vol fans. :frown: I hope I'm wrong.

If it is a train wreck on Saturday and the boys and coaches can come back and get a win in October, I think they will deserve a lot of credit.

if auburn's run defense is that porous playing those for teams what do you think Montario Hardesty and Bryce Brown are gonna do?

Good question, but the points that were scored were not rushing TDs, mostly passing and also on 2nd and 3rd stringers. Noel Devine had the most rushing yards against us and from the midway point of the 2nd quarter on was shut down. Im not saying we'll totally shut down ya'lls running game but I think your letting scores of games you didnt watch effect your reasoning.

Hilarious you bring up 04; you had 3 1st round picks in your backfield and we had 2 freshman QBs. If you guys didn't win that game it would have been hilarious.

But to your points. You guys aren't going to score 40 on us. We will be prepared for your no huddle. You don't think Monte Kiffin saw no huddle in the NFL? You vastly underestimate our D.

and it was said that year our program was irrelevant, so what did that make yours? We were up big at half, then saw usc had won. We came out flat, yet still won. I think you guys are in for a shock sat night...

I'm not worried about auburn at all--they're soft and haven't played anyone. Monte's D will shut them down cold. UT's only tough games left are Bama and Georgia.

Auburn goes down big: UT 33 Au 13

Yes, I think they will as well. Should be fun to watch as the 2 liter moonshine bottles are emptied out.
