Watching this game last weekend reminded me of a fight that happened back in 2003 that stopped the dominance of one of the greatest boxers ever. Roy Jones Jr. Roy dominated every boxer he fought until one day he fought an unknown guy called Antonio Tarver. For none boxing fans Tarver became middle weight champ and was one of the stars in the Balboa movie (the last Rocky movie).

Why does this game remind me of what is to come? Simply because when Roy fought Tarver, Roy won the fight but everybody was still rooting for Tarver even though he lost. Eventualy fans called for a rematch and Tarver knocked out the unstoppable Roy Jones Jr winning the belt.

Even though Roy won the first fight everyone knew the real Champ was tarver. Urban and the Gator nation now are feeling this emotion which is why we are seeing excuses now. Roy made excuses also but eventualy got knocked the hell out. UF with the best athletes around barely beat us with the worst UT qb in our history in the swamp and they know this.

Here is the video, the second fight

Go Vols!!! The tide is turning, Kiffin could care less about our past.

I have never seen so many excuses for a WIN. UM called into question UT's motivation late in the game... well just like CLK said we stuck to the run game because ultimately we knew we couldn't beat them with the pass. Also it makes sense with the game being a difference of a few possessions to not try and air it out and possibly throw an INT, but hey the strategy worked we got the TD pulled the game to ten points and had a shot at pulling it off. You can question the play calling, the personel decisions, the coaching decisions but don't question the heart of this team. UM has so little class he can't even admit that UT played a good game and gave them one hell of a run for their money.

Yeah your right, Kiffin did the best he could with what he had. All we could do is run the ball. Kiffin knew Crompton was a risk throwing the ball. With that said UF should of blew us out but couldn't. Not a good sign for this year for winning another NC nor the future of our rivalry

Next summer sure is gonna be fun! I think the media will have plenty to play with over the winter, spring and especially summer leading up to next season.
