Exactly.

Stating the obvious is not hating on him. Its just the brutal truth.

Until we get our special teams straightened out (which includes all facets) we will never get to where we want to be.

Exactly this... I bet there are a half dozen kids enrolled at UT that can kick touchbacks. Mike Leach signed up a kid that hit a fg in a contest at halftime, and that kid went on to be awesome. I know that's the exception, but there are TONS of high school kids in Tennessee that can kick as well as Palardy.

I would also imagine General Neyland would be disappointed that our kicking game is such a liability.

IMHO, he isn't battle tested yet. He was kicking into the endzone in the Cincy game, but everyone has forgotten that. He was injured for the better part of last year, and his first major FG was in the Swamp of all places.

I'm not going to say he is the best kicker ever, because he is far from it. But I will say there is obviously a reason he is our starting kicker, he has shown something in practice that we haven't seen yet. He just needs to put it on the field.

Are you talking about his touchback against UC? The one that landed at the 3 and rolled into the endzone?

Missing field goals is a surprise to Tennessee fans? Only thing that surprises me is why Tennessee still has a field goal kicking position.. we'd be better off just going for it every 4th down that is in field goal range.

And we as a fanbase need to quit expecting the world out of the kids. They are human and make mistakes, just like everyone else. Yes he was recruited as the number one kicker, but Matt Darr was also the number one punter.

WE over-hyped him ourselves, so if he isn't living up to our expectations that is OUR fault. Not his, we set our own bar on him.

Tired of seeing every other teams kicker make field goals less than 40 yards and ours not even come close. You have one job to do, one thing to work on.

Yeah. Let's accept mediocrity on the field. It's what all the other SEC schools do, right? If he can't perform then that is fine, but players that can't perform shouldn't play either.

Exactly this. Same kind of mentality on today's game. We hype the team and predict a win; when we lose, people are screaming like the sky is falling.

We don't have the luxury of not accepting what's on the field; we are not the coaches.

If he is the best we have then send him out there. I just cannot believe we cannot find a single kicker in America that can kick it out of the end zone or make field goals. Hell just get two and let them focus on one or the other.

That is the problem, where are all of these "great" kickers? Most of the great kickers we have had weren't highly recruited as far as I can remember. Same goes for about every other kicker/punter in the NCAA at the moment, the only reason we hyped Palardy up so much is because we had Lincoln.

Just like almost everybody else said..We finally thought we had a good kicker and he has not lived up to the hype..There is no reason for him missing easy fgs...Thats what he practices everyday..No excuse..
