Why The Democrats Just LOST The SENATE

Don't count on Bredesen caving in to the looney left though. I think he's more of an independent than a democrat..... at least I hope so. I'll lose all respect for him if he falls in line with all the SJW BS

I agree on the independent angle. I think he did a fine job while governor, and I usually vote Republican.

Biden did the speaking, Bredesen spoke for less than a minute and this came from someone who was there. His fear is Bredesen is suffering from the onset of dementia.

He’ll have to speak in public to win and if he can’t he won’t.

Plus do you really think Bredesen is going to excite the Bernie crowd?

He was in Kingsport earlier this month meeting some business owners I believe. He did a tv interview afterwards and seemed fine to me.

Bredesen has yet to open his mouth in public. So far he’s using the Hillary tactic of staying hidden and just airing a couple commercials. I’ve heard him speak within the last 18 months, he has problems. I’ll be surprised if he agree to a debate or does more than a couple public campaign speeches or PCs.

Plus I like how the Dems, the party of youth, minorities, women and the poor have to turn to an old white multi millionaire man to have a chance.
Yesterday, Bredesen was in Humbolt, Tn. at the 81st Annual Strawberry Festival with thousands in attendance enjoying the festivities and parade.

The day before he was at the Bredesen Center signing the first graduate certificates for students in a program between UT and Oak Ridge National Lab. Many in attendance for photo ops.

He also visited with Dolly Parton in Sevierville with a lot of coverage in the local papers with her Imagination Library initiative.

The week before he was in Morristown Tn. on a campaign stop visiting the Litz Farm, Motlow State, and the Citizen Tribune for an interview and met with local politicians.

He also went to Paris, Tn to the world's biggest Fish Fry. Several hundred in attendance.

Before that, he was in Cookeville, Tn. to honor nursing graduates at TTU.

He also visited the L&N STEM Academy in Knoxville celebrating their good work.

Then there's the Kingsport visit with the Chamber that 30 is talking about.

I could go on, but you get the point. Before you or your cohorts whine about sources, it's all on his Facebook page. Even pictures of him struggling with his Alzheimers. :birgits_giggle:

It's safe to say, you are making stuff up. See, this is what Trump is teaching you kids.

Cool, I heard him speak last spring and he sounded lost and confused. If he’s in good health he has a chance at my vote, he was a pretty good governor.

I’ll listen.

Defeating Bredesen in Tennessee is a "lay up"? That is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. The writer obviously doesn't know that Phil was a great governor who was very popular when he left office. Corker has already said that he will not be endorsing Blackburn because Bredesen is such a good friend. Indeed, that is a stupid article.

Bredeson was very conservative. That's why he was liked so well. Who knows, he might fight against the Marxist leadership of Pelosi and schumer.

why do you keep repeating this? He had a large campaign fundraiser in nashville that biden attended just recently and spoke at it. what difference does it make that he's a white guy if he's an effective leader? Good god.

For Democrats, the Don Blankenship dream is over. The coal-mining baron and ex-con was a pleasant diversion—the prospect of yet another train-wreck Republican candidate was exactly the kind of opponent that Sen. Joe Manchin needed in his dicey reelection campaign in West Virginia—but now it’s back to the reality of a merciless map that offers little hope for Chuck Schumer’s dream of becoming majority leader.

One of the most flagrantly stupid posts I have ever read on this forum. Don Sundquist (a Republican) desperately wanted to impose a state income tax. Bredesen didn't do it. End/

Not only that, but how can he as a US Senator directly affect Tennessee state taxes? Its not like he would be the governor.

Bredesen will get a lot of GOP votes.

Anyone that would even suggest a state income tax should be run out on a rail.
About 20 years ago, I ran into my newly elected state representative at the local post office. He stopped me and wanted my opinion on a Tenn state income tax, along with a lowering of the sales tax.

I said that my biggest fear would be that they would gradually raise the sales tax back to where it already was, and then we would have both a high sales tax and an income tax.

The tactic is diversion. The more taxes there are the easier it is to raise one without too much clamor - especially if one hits one group of people and the next increase a different group of people. It's a shrewd strategy split between diversion and dividing the electorate. A divided populace is always easier to conquer because you can pit one group against the other - How to be a Politician 101.

If my state rep here in Florida asked me that I would ask him what he thought about his going back to work in the private sector.

You just called him a "prolific taxer". You obviously know NOTHING about the fiscally responsible work he did as Governor. He is one of the best we have had in modern history. Maybe you should take a minute and look into it more?

His vote will be nothing more than another blue vote. Freshmen are told to sit down, shut up, and vote the way the leader says. If I lived in TN, Blackburn would get my vote. Liked Bredesen as a leader but as a follower, well he will be a follower.

So far I’m leaning on a write-in vote.

Since you know everything, would you tell me which team wins the super bowl next year as well? That would be awesome. I would gladly split my winnings with you. 50/50
