Why so much coach hate

We have like 2 players that should be starters playing on either the O or D lines.
Until they can get true SEC linemen on both sides of the ball we won’t compete for anything. That is all on the previous staff and this staff looked everywhere for any linemen they could get to come just hoping they could assemble something good enough, which clearly wasn’t successful.
This staff needs at least 2 years to work on things and get the players where they should be mentally. Year 3 will be the year this staff can show either they have done what they were hired to do or they were just the latest in a growing list of coaches who were in over their heads.

Hard to make a gourmet dinner when all you have is a can of pork n beans.
You can either try and dress the pork and beans up and make them presentable and edible or you can mash them up with chicken **** and try to Serve them up... it seems we got the second one... not the best job done by the chef ( coach.)

When the two teams have similar talent, losing in this kind of fashion is exclusively on the coaches:

-Piss poor decisions by Helton.

-Piss poor fundamentals.

-Piss poor motivation.

-Piss poor ball security.

-Piss poor WR play constantly dropping balls.

-Piss poor play in general.

It will improve your life since you don’t know what you’re looking at anyway
I agree... I thought I’ve been watching god awful football for the past few years... I’m glad you informed me I was actually watching well coached and executed football. I’ll quit now since I clearly don’t understand the game.

Pruitt is in over his head. He's continuing in the ways of the previous coaches the past 10 years. Chewing out players on TV and on the field while throwing temper tantrums does not bode well with me. Just waiting for the buy out now.
Just to make sure I'm picking up what you are putting down. If a coach chews on a player, on TV, on the field? Then they are in over their head? And you would rather move on to a new coach?

I would say we are watching things differently, and that's fine. I'm looking to see if players are being put in position to make plays, be successful. If I see that, play made or not, it's encouraging for me.
Does CJP have things to learn as a head coach, yes?

You guys crack me up. All I used to hear was let's run out of the I formation, let's run the pro style offense. You get what you want, and You're still not happy. SMH.

Blaming coaches is easy. Human nature looks for a single locus on which to place blame or reward, and in the case of a football team the coach is most often the target of ire whether it's deserved or not.

The more emotional the human, the less capable they are of reviewing a situation with any amount of separation.

Coaches are ultimately responsible.

There's a lot of distance between 'now' and 'ultimately'. We'll see at the end of the year.
Interesting. Before tonight many said we would know what we have after UF game. Wish CJP could move the goal posts like we do.

Do you feel if Mullen was coaching TN and Pruitt was coaching FL, TN would roll FL?

If the WRs caught the ball would Helton be one of your bullet points?
If ball security wasn't an issue would Helton be one of your bullet points? Or do you blame Helton for the TOs?
I'm not saying an OC can't be responsible for TOs, I'm asking if you feel it was on Helton tonight?

I'm not part of the 'many'. I've always been in favor of a long-term review of performance. How we are trending at the end of the season is what I'm looking for.

Fumbles are not on the coaches.

I too wonder how we will look amassing a 4-8 record.

I'm looking for skills development, consistency of fundamentals, and a decrease in mental errors as we approach the end of the season. This team is undergoing a mental and physical rebuild and trying to adapt to expectations that they will work as a cohesive unit. The raw record is important but the underlying parameters are more important to gauging if the team is going to improve in the next offseason.
