Why Rexvol has a man crush on Steve Spurrier

Nope, I just don't create lies and ignore truths to get my point across. :glare:

Sometimes it seems that you do ignore the truth that this is an average college football team at its best, and bad team at its worst. You also ingore the truth that it has been that way for three years now.

If status quo is maintained, it will be four by next year.

Spurrier: Fighting is the answer

November 1, 2007
BY TONI GINNETI Staff Reporter
South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier knows what he would have done if he had been coaching Florida and Georgia's players got the mass-celebration penalty:
Start a fight.
Spurrier said if Gators coach Urban Meyer had known what was going to happen after the Bulldogs' first touchdown last week, he should have sent out ''one of his third-team guys and get in a wrestling match with the guys, get a fight started.''
Spurrier's reasoning? With all of Georgia's players off the bench, they all might get suspended as part of the Southeastern Conference's penalties for fighting.
''Leave the bench in a fight, and you're out the next game,'' Spurrier said. ''That's what we'd do if the other team ever does that.''
If Meyer had followed Spurrier's tactic, the Bulldogs ''would have been in deep trouble for the game next week,'' Spurrier said.

Just another example of Spurrier running his mouth off...

There's no way he would actually do that...

I love the position Spurrier is in....he's still running his mouth but now he doesn't have the studs he had at UF to prevent him from looking foolish...

Why do we give this guy so much credit...

Yeah he won at Duke...I give him props for that

He won at UF....again the UF studs argument

But look what he's done at USC...after 3 seasons they are middle of the pack in the SEC East..

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that where they were when they brought him in?

I dont think he won overnight at Duke, give him time. Just look at his recruiting class last year. He's starting to close the borders. give him time and watch what happens.

I think he was a great coach. I think his biggest problem now is that he is having too much fun being himself. I don't think he cares as much about winning or losing (don't get me wrong, I still think he cares quite a bit) but I think he is just enjoying his last 5 or so years before retirement and getting a kick out of spoiling a season for some teams.

So let's say if Fulmer would have been in Meyer's position and he sent the bench out there and got into a wrestling match with the Georgia players and we got our arses kicked...Would it be Fulmers fault that our players cannot fight as well as Georgia's???

Yes

Spurrier's working with one of the nation's most delusional fanbases. If he loses to Arkansas and Florida, many SC fans will begin to turn on him the same way they did to Lou Holtz.

I would roll the red carpet for him to come to the Hill. In a New York minute.

I think I remember OWB awhile back talking about Spurrier coaching his redskins and how it wasn't a good feeling. I don't think I want to experience that in Knoxville.

beef, I actually like you and think you're a pretty good guy. But that has to be the single unfunniest attempts at humor I've ever read.

He was only at Duke for 3 seasons. The ACC in the late 80's is a huge step down from the SEC.

Phil would have clapped while UGA did their celebration!

I think its tacky and completely white trash to purposefully start a fight over a celebration penalty...Id have a hard time pulling for a team with a coach that tacky...not that any of you care what I think.

In other news, this thread............a swiiiiiing and a miss
