All this talk of...schemes, oc , dc , butch's offense. Whatever lets go back and help me understand why we are in the situation w oline and qb. Lets ask why we only have 1 capable qb and are out of lineman right now. Is it butch's lack of signings or what? I feel like if we dont bring in some real deal juco im talkin qb and o line we are gonna be hurting bad nxt yr. I dont think we should be this thin injuries or no. Question is why? I wasnt happy when butch failed to sign a qb in my opinion.. But once again the o line issue seems to have crept up on me again just like w dooley.
Sorry i dont really understand all the recruiting as well as i would like but to me its a lot easier to bring in talent when the cupboard is bare. These positions have been bare for years so where's the backups???

if you sign 25 kids per year, you can expect that 35-40 percent of them will not complete eligibility and provide little to the program. Alabama's # 1 class in 2011 was 22 signees. 10 of those fit the definition I just gave you.

Of the 60-65% that are left, in general you can guess that 20% may stay but contribute very little to the program. They will not provide depth (See Blair, Blanc, Bullock as a few examples of recruits who didn't).

So you end up with 12 out of signing class of 25 that are productive players for your program. That production comes at different levels. Some are stars and some are just average to good players filling a spot.

Unless your recruiting number one classes every year like Alabama does. They can afford attrition and "busts" because they are getting several lite players each year.

We have not recruited at that level so depth is harder.

Dooley didn't bring in any OL last yr he's here, but take a minute to compare rosters with Bama, they have 20 OL listed we have 18. I think it's talent and coaching more than lack of players at position. These guys aren't being coached up same with LB

Why no Hurd and Kamara? Do you really think they leave? This team still doesn't have a lot of seniors. And no Dobbs gives Guarantano an opportunity to be better than Dobbs. I love Dobbs, but he has limited passing ability. We're already without Sutton and Maybin. Kirkland will be back, and Jumper had grown into a serviceable player. Next year has potential to be better. We have to have some great recruiting though to keep the trend going upward after next year though.

Kamara and Hurd are gone. Guarantee it. JRM will also be gone. Barnett top 5 draft pick.

I don't think it's that easy for those guys. Barnett is first round, so he's gone, but I think saying Hurd and Kamara gone is premature at this point.
