Why on Earth doesn’t Shack shoot more?

He's not a "shooter". I think his shot selection is smart. He'll take a few open 3s when he's feeling it. Other times he passes shots up to work for a better look for a teammate. Exactly why he's such a valuable player. He is elite on defense and doesn't hurt the team on offense.

The guy can shoot when he is settled. Ive watched him pregame and in warmup after halftime break and he literally does not miss. And virtually all those warm ups shots he takes are three point shots. Warm up shots are unpressured but show his mechanical stroke is well honed. That was clearly high pressure shot yesterday , and those pressure shots don't appeal to him. But he knew he had to make it and the stroke was there and I actually think he shoot it with some confidence . Miss it and we are in OT. Not a win or lose shot.

Leave him a little space and he can drill them

He shot a lot of threes during the Summer and Fall work outs. Unfortunately, that has not carried on to game conditions. He saved the bacon last night, and that was Huge. However, His game time percentage form three has not been outstanding.
36% on the year going into yesterday. Not as bad as you think

Because he's about a 35% three-point shooter, and 98% of those three pointers are wide open. Meshach is focused and passionate about defense and other glue plays it makes a team successful. He's just not a great long range shooter.

Although, I would say I would like to see him be a lot more aggressive getting to the rack. He has the athleticism and ability to give us four or five more points a game right there.

He focused on improving his long range shots this offseason and then fractured a finger. He’s been slowly regaining his form and confidence. A trend up couldn’t be coming at a better time. The last two games, he’s made a rare contribution on the offensive end.

Reminds me of that year JJJ’s knee cooperated and he dominated the SECT.

Here he is beating Lanier & Gainey in a 3 pt shootout.
I'm not sure I want him necessarily taking more 3's. I'd rather see him take it to the rack a little more when he is given the opportunity.
Much more high percentage in terms of him giving a few more points and he is in position to help us rebound which he often does.

I with say he apparently does shoot good from 3 in practice. My neighbor said at halftime of the KY game he watched him hit like 7 out of 8 from the corner 3 spot.
