I know that both were dismissed on bad terms but that doesnt take away the fact they are great coaches. Hell look at Bobby Knight.

Mike Hamilton says he wants a coach who will stay for a few years. Both of them would fufill that. Right now these guys will be lucky to be a coordinator somewhere. You give them a chance to coach again they will put in the time to prove themseleves and redeem there actions.

Personally I think a guy like Mike Leach would be a great fit. Knock off some of the "Thug Life" BS at UTK on the football team.

I think despite these guys recent firings, who else is a better candidate?

Love to hear your thoughts

Don't want our players locked in closets and slapped like childeren at halftime by fools who would rather be playing Pirate Ship?

nvm.... I see your first loyalty is to UNC...... No wonder you want a crappy coach to come to UTK.

That would be awesome to be fired from a Texas Tech or South Florida and turn around and be paid more money at Tennessee.

Talk about falling up stairs.

I think both of those cats are tainted looking at it from a recruiting view point. I think, at least hope, one of the qualities UT is looking for is the ability to recruit at a high level, on a national scale...or at least someone who believes this way. I can't imagine these two coaches mentioned here would be too popular among parents of recruits right now. jmo.

I don't think that Leach is known as being a disciplinarian. At all.

Hiring either of these would be akin to becoming engaged to a prostitute after having just divorced your cheating wife.

Anytime you have to reference Bobby Knight as a positive to support your point, you probably don't have a strong case. Both of the incidents are too fresh. Especially with Leach, it recieved major pub because James works for ESPN. The Leavitt deal we might be able to sweep under the rug.

I hope Texas Tech is prepared to pay the remainder of Leach's contract and more. That BS they pulled is probably one of the reasons Tenn won't contact him. I hope Leach sues that school for all its worth.

Leach is a PR nightmare, and the other flat out lied during the investigation. Levitt would still be coach if he would have cooperated. Texas Tech was very happy to get an out with Leach. Those may be the only two Cutcliff would be a better choice than.

OK so maybe Leavitt is out but Leach should be possibility.

Truth is not all out there on the Leach story and quite frankly the guy can coach. I know it could be bad PR at first but hell we are running out of options.

Are you seriously contending his actions before and after the incident became had no bearing on him being fired?

It's getting to the point that we may have to choose one of them.

We're scraping the bottom of the barrel now.

Why not Randy Edsall. Uconn had some close losses to some good teams this year with some quality wins. He can also beat the SEC, Uconn beat South Carolina 20-7 in a bowl this year.

Other coaches would kill us in recruiting. Imagine all the negative recruiting?

Urban: "Markeith, do you want to be locked in a closet by a guy that idolizes pirates?"

Leach is a good offensive mind but he is a nut! Leavitt along with Leach has a lot of bad things going on right now with the accusations. I do think Leavitt is a really good coach however. That said, I don't think he will be considered.
