Why not Urban Meyer

Since we have explored every other name possible from list of winners in College Football (& some unicorns ..'cough .. cough .. Gruden' ) , why not bring in Urban Meyer to the mix.
Dude is one of the best, probably among Top 2-3 coaches right now. He can win 11 games at Ohio State all he wants but he ain't getting SEC level respect. Lets just throw 12 million at him and say 'You want to be the best, come out here and expedite Saban's retirement' !!

He is a liar.

Some justification or explanation could be provided here, but nah. He is a liar. Do not want.

Meyer's will never come to a program you have to rebuilt. He doesn't handle pressure very well. Remember Florida. Florida is a good job but the pressure to succeed is tremendous. And not many can survive that pressure. He got sick over his job with FL. and had to leave. Do you not think there will be that same kind of pressure at TN. Who ever they hire he will have to handle the team on and off the field.

Tennessee does not need rebuilding. It just needs good coaching. Butch rebuilt it.

Think about it. Every coach out there with a solid if not outstanding college football record and long list of accomplishment is being greeted with a no thanks while a guy who has never coached a down of college football nor has shown any interest in coaching at the college level is being hailed as the Vol program savior. It truly is unbelievable

Urban melted down after 6 years at UF. He is in his sixth year at OSU and showing major signs of wear even with a tremendous record. It will be interesting to see what he does if his team continues to struggle. If he loses to michigan state and michigan - he may need a year or two off once again. One strange dude but a great coach no doubt.

He’s already demonstrated he can’t handle the rigors of the SEC. Dude looked like a skeleton, lost about 40lbs, hair falling out, popping dangerous pills to sleep, etc. during his last months at Florida.

Nobody suffers losing like Urban Meyer, fortunately for him it doesn’t happen much.

diddling co-eds will do that to ya.:whistling:

that's the kind of stuff that happens when you have anxiety because you're cheating on your wife.

Well...didn't his wife make him move back to Ohio after he cheated, err, had health issues? I don't think it's his call.

panic attacks will make you move from Florida to Ohio...they were real bad...:)

GO VOLS!

Why not? Because he is a prick. And this is not FL or Ohio in terms of recruiting.

He walked out on FL. He will do the same to OSU. We don't need him here.

This is one of the dumbest things I've ever read on the Internet

IMO he wants no part of competing with Saban for recruits heads up nor does he want to see Bama/Saban and an SEC schedule facing him ever year. He enjoys his one or two competitive opponents annually and delusional OSU fans. Anything that threatens his little world, those pesky chest pains return and he hits the ejection button.

There is only one coach out there available right now that has a proven record. Les Miles!?? He was 112-32 at LSU and 63-28 in SEC play with 2 SEC championships and a national championship nuff said.

Faked a heart attack to get out of the SEC. He wants no part of Saban.. He saw the writing on the wall. He's smart i'll say that.

Can we please stop surfacing known names who are currently gainfully employed, and highly compensated, from serious programs. It's just silly and makes us look like 12 year olds. Please.

how about me for coach....
VN can run the offense and call plays live during the games...
We can split VN into defensive and offensive sides and make all in game decisions and call all the plays...
I am sure there would be no passing on 1st and goal from the 1....
