Why not try Jennings at QB?

Jennings was a 4☆ dual threat QB coming out of high school. Granted he's probably not going to sit in the pocket and pick apart a defense, but he would add a serious running threat. I went back and watched some of his recruiting videos and he's got a descent arm. Watch his highlight video from high school.

I don't think we need to remove the best receiver we have to have him play QB. Just turn loose one of the freshmen and let them grow for next year. We have virtually no chance of even making a bowl game this year. So there's not much left to play for. Sucks we couldn't get past mid September before arriving there but apparently JG practices good or something so the coaches choose to ignore the games.

If I was AD I would give him Pruitt’s job

Give Maurer 2 full weeks of practice at starter and turn him lose. Giants finally did that today with Jones and it paid big dividends.

I would definitely try to throw a wildcat package with JJ into the mix (and actually let him throw a pass once or twice.)

We need all the tricks we can dig up against Bama and UGA.

It feels like this should be a ridiculous idea but hell I like it. I say with JJ approval let's do it.

Jauan Jennings played QB his junior and senior year in high school. Stats his senior year only were: Passing: 125/222 completions, 2169 yards, 22 TDs, 3 INTs, and a QBR of 117.1. Rushing: 123 carries for 877 yards. 7.1 yards per carry. 17 Rushing TDs.

Part of the reason he got in Butch's doghouse was because he wanted to play QB against Vanderbilt and they told him no. I'm not sure at this point he would want to, but he did then. He certainly would provide the spark and the leadership at QB we need. On the other hand, I saw him play QB in the O&W game his freshman year. It was a small sample, but he didn't impress me with his passing. He liked to tuck and run a lot. Again, it was only a handful of plays.

What's the point? He's a senior, he's not going to lead us to a bowl with the rest of our schedule, he probably wants a shot at the NFL, that would do nothing for us or him.

I like the intention behind this question. I feel like our coaches need to really use everything at their disposal at this point and think outside the box. Either that or just start playing the Freshman and give them experience.
