Why not Jim Chaney?

Chaney is a very good OC... and unlike a lot of coaches he seems to understand that he's a very good OC.

It's amazing how fickle posters are. When Chaney was our OC, everybody hated him. Now some want him back. Crazy

Chaney seems to put a really good offense together and he is amazing with QB's, but has he ever really been a head coach (not interim)? Can he coordinate a whole program? Is he much of a recruiter? Seems like that wasn't his strong suit, if I remember correctly.

Had the pleasure if getting to know Jim while he was here. I loved the guy. Would he make a good head coach? Probably not. I'd see him going back to the NFL first.
We were talking recruiting one day and I asked him about a kid in Virginia. He matter of fact stated, "We quit recruiting him. Kid is a total d-bag."

I'd rather have him than Mike freaking Bobo. Saw that name tossed out there in a random article.

1 word, 3 letters: O-L-D

Plus, season ticket sales would plummet and they might as well tarp the whole upper deck at Neyland next season if someone like Chaney is hired as HC.

Six letters (and a hashtag): #toofat

:rock:This is one of the best suggestions yet for a replacement football coach. When CBJ was hired, Pittman was the OL coach of Dooley and wanted to stay at Tennessee, even the offensive line players tried to get CBJ to keep him. CBJ refused to consider Pittman. He is probably the best offensive line coach in college football. Chaney and Pittman would be a good fit and would not cost us too much...then keep the UT special teams coach to go with them.:eek:lol:

Already undefeated as Tennessee coach. He would bring Pittman who would do something about out soft OL. The last fat head coach at UT won a national championship.:)

Well he has the same amount of HC experience as Lon Chaney, so why not?

What was Kirby Smart and Dabo's HC experience before they took over? some guys just have, not saying either way for Chaney, but thats not a good argument.
